An oasis for vegans near Mojave National Preserve

We're experienced vegan travelers and gotta say, finding vegan food near Mojave National Preserve is very challenging. We were so happy to find The Mad Greek which has a clearly labeled menu indicating what is vegan. Don't order from the ordering kiosks as it's not clear what's vegan. Talk to someone behind the counter and they'll make sure your order is vegan. The food was great. Especially recommend the hummus and the zucchini fries! Kid-friendly. Ours enjoyed the falafel wraps and french fries.

Options

I am gluten free AND vegan. There are a variety of vegan items clearly marked on the menu. An employee was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping me create a gfv breakfast which was delicious and freshly made. My husband has no dietary restrictions but still wanted some customization and he enjoyed his breakfast as well.

Reliable road trip option

We’ve been stopping here on road trips since the ‘90s, and always enjoy the vegan felafel and dolmades. Note that the zucchini sticks are also marked vegan on the menu but by default are served with a non-vegan ranch dressing, so vegans will want to specify no ranch dressing.

Tasty vegan falafel wrap

Found a local, kitschy Greek lunch place to eat outside in the small isolated desert town of Baker—even a vegan 🌱 option.

Pros: Local option in small desert town, Clean. fun atmosphere , Friendly efficient staff

Cons: Few vegan options
