At least some vegan food in Kalkan

I already thought I would starve, until I finally found this supermarket with a small selection of vegan cheese, milk, etc.
still a lot less than what you would find in European supermarkets, but 4 stars for Turkish coastal area

Lots of labelled vegan goods!

It’s generally tricky finding vegan products in the supermarkets in Kalkan but Macrocenter was much better.

They had clearly labelled vegan cheeses, koftes, tofu products and probiotic yogurt. They also had a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables.

The prices varied a lot with some products very affordable (such as hummus for 80p) and some insanely expensive (such as agave syrup for £29!).

Some of the food was a bit hit and miss such as the “Vegsmoke” vegan cheese slices which my wife said were pretty inedible and a pack of blueberries I had which tasted pretty bad, but other food was very good. There’s also a Migros next door so you can split your shopping between the 2 stores to get the full shop you want!

Macrocenter was also clean and easy to navigate unlike some of the other supermarkets around.

Pros: Lots of labelled vegan goods, Animal product substitutes , Clean & bright store

Cons: Some crazy prices (e.g. £29 agave syrup!), VegSmoke cheese wasn’t good
