Lovely woman and great cook - Edit
She cooks very nice. And understands veganism as she is vegan herself. She showed me the vegan bottles of oyster sauce and fish sauce she uses.

Mama Alex is such a lovely woman! She eats vegan by herself, so she understands it. We enjoyed the Massaman curry with tofu and a mushroom stir fry with rice. Recommended!

Wonderful staff, delicious food, good vegan understanding - Edit
We will absolutely be eating here again. Mama Alex actually laughed at me when I tried to automatically explain what I meant by vegan, she has a very good understanding of veganism. Her grandkids (we think) were helping her out the day we went and it was a lovely vibe, they were hilarious and so sweet. We had the masaman curry with tofu which was absolutely delicious. We also had the Khao Soy with tofu with was also very good, but the masaman was definitely the winner! The meal was very cheap too. Absolutely recommend this place to any vegans or non vegans!

Was craving some tofu and got a bowl of curry with plenty of it. A nice place for a filling meal after a hike. Owner speaks English so it's easy to ask questions and request modifications

I was so enjoying the huge jar of freshly prepared ice tea that I forgot to take a photo of the food. Suffice to say the ice tea was perfect. I ordered a massaman curry with tofu. A huge bowl of curry soup arrived with a plateful of rice. The food was flavourful, a nice mild curry. Ma Ma Alex is a very sweet host too. When it's very hot, however, it's probably best to visit this restaurant in the evening.

Menu has extensive vegan options available. The western food was all a bit salty, but the curries were better so maybe the Lao / Asian dishes are a bit better. The lady who owns the place was incredibly friendly and completely understands veganism and is happy to amend dishes because she is vegan herself! Nice atmosphere, worth a visit.

Wir waren ganze 4 Mal dort und wurden nie enttäuscht. Das Essen ist super lecker, würzig und frisch zubereitet. Da Mama Alex selbst vegan ist, kann die Familie fast alle Gerichte in veganer Option zubereiten. Es gibt von laotischer bis westlicher Küche in angemessenen Preisen. Ebenfalls auch alle Shakes/Kaffee mit Soya- oder Kokosnussmilch möglich.

Hands down most delicious food in northern Laos! - Edit
Ma Ma Alex understands what veganism is and offers to replace meat with tofu, and always reassures me that there’s no egg and no fish sauce in the dish. Everything is freshly made, gigantic portions, and ridiculously delicious. I came here daily for breakfast and dinner because of all the vegan options, particularly the Lao dishes that are truly amazing. Lots of comfortable seating available and Ma Ma Alex is super sharp (she remembers everything in detail!). My only regret is not being able to taste her pumpkin soup with coconut cream that others have raved about (seems it’s not always available).
