Lovely Vegan Options

We had the Vegetable Platter for three which was 100% vegan. It tasted delicious. Very different especially with the Injera. We also had a Biscoff Cheesecake and a double Buna. Great service. Nice ambiance.

Cons: Very different

A special and unique place!

Fantastic place with a wonderful atmosphere! I had never eaten Ethiopian food before and it was incredible 😋 I was also impressed with the range of vegan food.

Really lovely

Cuisine from this part of the world lends itself to veganism, and this is a very good example of that. Also loads of gluten free options.

Pros: Yummy, Many options

Ethiopian and Eritrean food in Oxford

I love Ethiopian food. There are few to find outside London. but it’s great when you do get to experience these authentic African gems of restaurants. Beginning with a dish you can eat with your hands and a dish you traditionally eat shared. Lula does offer cutlery and solo dishes to eat also. The unique attribute to Lula’s is brown injera bread with your meal. Usually it’s white in most other restaurants I’ve been to. So it is a long awaited experience to try the brown and traditional homemade style. Might I add ancient. I had the shared platter which had 3 styles of lentils to eat and 2 veg with Injera. It’s a natural vegan dish from Ethiopia and Eritrea. Often eaten throughout religious periods which can be 6 months of the year. The lentil’s were more mild then I’m used to, but still enjoyable. I just wish for more of the other Ethiopian veg options to have on the platter.

Pros: full vegan option to meat eaters, that’s better, A vegan cake for dessert , Affordable

Each time I go, Lula's seems to be more popular. The speciality is the sharing dishes based on injeera breads are delicious. Eating with your hands is a really fun way to share food. The chocolate cake is delicious. A great place for vegans.
