Lecker aber

Das Essen war lecker, aber man sollte wissen das die Deko Felle und Leder beinhaltet. Wem das stört sollte nicht dort essen gehen.

Updated from previous review on 2025-12-22

Cons: Leder und Felle als Deko bzw. Als Stuhlbezug

Very tasty

I'm a fan of Ethiopian food and this place delivers! Plenty of injeras supplied too. It's not a big place and got crowded quickly, so arrive early or make a reservation if possible.

Delicious!

This was my families first time eating Ethiopian food. Everyone loved it. My kids loved eating with their hands and said it was the most fun dinner we’ve had on our week long trip so far. We had the vegan platter and vegan strew. The staff were really friendly and the chef came out to see if we were enjoying our food.
We also reserved our table online which I recommend doing.

Pros: Delicious food, Labelled vegan, Fun atmosphere

refreshing spot for vegans in Scandinavia!

the food was insanely tasty! also what seemed to be the owner of the restaurant was very friendly and caring, the atmosphere was quite comfortable.
A worthy switch up if you're fed up with the usual first-stage vegan dishes most of Scandinavia is still stuck in (burgers, etc.) :)

Yum!

I’ve never had Ethiopian food before so really wasn’t sure what to expect.

The food here is DELICIOUS, the vegan special comes with Red and green lentil sauce, berbere (ethiopian spices), spinach, yellow chickepeas, carot, potato, vegetables and is served with gluten free teff injera.
Big portion, full tummy!

They sell Ethiopian lager which was tasty, and we ended the meal with a spiced tea which was delicious! Super spiced and heavy on the cinnamon and cloves.

Pros: Clearly marked option, Lovely staff

Finally some spicy food in Scandinavia

Really enjoyed the vegan platter here. Great combination of legumes and vegetables, and just about the right size meal. Service was a bit slow at times, but everyone including the chef was very nice.

A great vegan spot!

Very good ambiance, cute and small. Most importantly, delicious vegan dish. There is one dish on the menu that’s vegan and it’s worth going to this spot to try it out.

Flavourful food, cosy ambience,

The beyaynetu didn't disappoint. One of the best we've had and we've had plenty.

The restaurant is a beautiful, cosy place with spectacular paintings and carved furniture.

Vegan platter and coffee

The vegan beyeaynetu platter was so tasty and filling! Don't skip on the coffee as well, I think it's the best I've ever had and comes with a sugar-dusted popcorn that pairs so well!

Pros: Rich flavours, Amazing coffee, Great atmosphere

Soo yummy

My partner and I both love Ethiopian food and this was definitely added to one of our favourite places. Only few option on the menue but what we had was amazing and clearly named. It's a small but very cozy place. It's usually a big portion so we usually share one and we both get full on that.

Cute

Sweet little place with lovely staff.
They had 2 vegan options. I choose for the vegan special thing with lentils and veggies. It was good and tasty. My belly was full and happy.
But it didn’t come with extra injeras. When I asked I got a few in a basket.

Pros: Not overpriced , Good portion

Enjoyable

Two vegan options on the menu. We had two times vegan plate (you can also ask separate plates but one shared plate is more appealing). The food was served on a big plate that is covered with huge flatbread (injera). Everything is eaten with hands which is a bit messy.

The food was good but the real treat was the Ethiopian style coffee which was strong but not bitter at all. Highly recommended! One can of coffee serves up to 4 persons.

The waiter didn’t speak that much English but was still friendly.

Pros: Nice interior, Excellent Ethiopian coffee

Delicious food, decently priced ( for Norway)

We had the only vegan dish which was excellent. The portions were big and the price was quite good ( approx. 200kr)

Cozy atmosphere

I liked how the restaurant felt and the waitress was very friendly - but I do have to admit that I had better injeras before. The food was overall a bit too sour.

Pros: friendly waitress

Ethiopian excellence

Cosy restaurant with traditionally decorated dining room and atmospheric Ethiojazz playlist. Friendly service is relaxed and efficient. Beyaynetu mixed platter is perhaps not the most aesthetically stunning version out there but flavours are delicious and warmly spiced on generous sour teff injera (for supplementary charge). Shiro is served piping hot in a clay pot and has a good kick to it. (Proceed with caution if sampling its green chilli!)

Check vegan option availability on arrival (or book ahead) as it was limited on our visit.
