吉星至素食小食, at 美孚美孚吉利徑48A號2B舖, is a small vegetarian take away. Chinese and English spoken. Nearest MTR Mei Foo exit A. Take-out only. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-7:30pm.
This takeaway counter and the owner have been here for as long as I can remember. The food here is comparable to other vegetarian takeaway counters around Hong Kong. My favorite item here is the lo bak go (turnip cake). However, that tends to be my favorite item at all vegan/vegetarian Cantonese eateries due to the nostalgia! If you plan on eating the food right away, the owner will hear it up for you.
The last time I was here in January 2025, the owner said no eggs or dairy are used, so this should be vegan, despite the name.
The opening hours are variable. During my one week in Mei Foo in January 2025, this place appeared to open in the late morning, and when I asked the owner about the closing time, he said around 6 pm that day.
I spun in here earlier. It was a pleasant bonus that the very nice man who runs this place speaks English as well as Chinese. He runs this operation single handed. Thus when for example he has to attend a funeral this place is closed. Thus if you are traveling any sort of distance to eat from here it may be worth ringing ahead.
He sells the usual sort of stuff that most of the Chinese Vegetarian take aways seem to offer in HK. I grabbed a couple of things very confident in the knowledge of what I was getting. And of course the price was cheap as chips.
If I was in this area I'd be happy to eat here again.

Poor quality - Edit
Quality of the food is quite poor. After eating the food, my teeth hurt. Most likely due to the type of sugar used to cook the food.
