Most affordable Chinese with most veg options in Newark - Edit
This place is VERY CHEAP. And worth it. Although the quality varies according to who is in the kitchen, this is overall the best Chinese you will find in Newark. They have a large menu, with a vegetable dish section that is mostly vegan, tofu lettuce cups appetizer, and the option to replace animal flesh with tofu in any dish (many of which are vegan when the meat is removed).
Read moreVeg lunch portions are less than $5 to go. They do come with soup or eggroll, neither of which is vegan so you'll have to let them know you do not want that.
My favorite is the spicy bean sprouts dish, which is simply bean sprouts stir fried with jalapenos and green onions in a soy sauce. I also love the homestyle tofu, vegetable chop suey, and tofu lettuce cups. From the Chinese Favorites menu, the Mongolian, Asparagus, and Hot Pepper dishes are my faves- ask for tofu as the protein. It is not listed on the menu but they will do it.
