Can't go wrong here

Delicious Mexican street food, very accommodating to dietary needs. Food is out of this world and staff is very friendly. We had a little of everything: guacamole, peppers, ceviche, tacos, dessert. Everything was amazing. You'll love it!

Pros: Delicious food, Accommodating for allergies, Cool music

Cons: Would probably be a little cramped if crowded

Sad they didn't make it as purely vegetarian

They now serve some meat options but still a creative and extensive vegetarian and vegan menu. But what really stands out for me here are the cocktails and a lovely ambience.

Serves meat

This restaurant is not vegetarian. It serves beef. Most dishes are vegetarian though, and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. The food was good, but if I knew that meat is served, I would have chosen another restaurant.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Bit pricey and not vegetarian, contrary to the des

Tasty and convenient

Lovely, albeit small, restaurant located at the end of Davie street. A good number of vegan items to choose from, and helpful and friendly staff. I had the cauliflower and the jackfruit tacos, which were tasty though lacking a little punch. Recommend making use of the hot sauce to add the extra flavour!

Pros: Variety of options, Quick service

when punk rock grows up to be a foodie

This small, casual place has limited seating and a simple decor (including a few old school concert posters). The menu is also fairly small - which is great since too many places try to be and do everything. Lots of vegan options and the flavours are amazing. Not your Americanized hard tacos with shredded lettuce and jarred salsa. This place does it well and does it tasty. A definite to try.

Pros: few items but done very well, both desserts are vegan

Really Good Vegan Tacos

This place has a lot going for it - I went for dinner with a friend and we split the 3 vegan starters plus the 4 vegan tacos. The staff were really nice and the flavour combinations in the food were overall good too. Some minor adjustments would push it from good to amazing, I think, and I hope that more people discover it and start frequenting it regularly.

Excellent!

A great little Mexican restaurant. Food was excellent and most things could be made vegan. We had the: nachos, and cauliflower and tempeh tacos, and key lime pie for dessert. All were delicious! Very tasty food and very friendly service.

Pros: great food, friendly service

Cons: dark restaurant, some items a little pricey

Great tasting and creative tacos

I had dinner here with four friends on Wednesday evening. Service was very prompt and efficient, as well as patient with us as we decided on what to order.
I had the special squash blossom taco, which was tasty with a crunchy exterior and nice fruit based salsa on top. My one friend ate the smoked tempeh taco, which was terrific and nice and spicy, also had the jackfruit which he said was the best. Another guy had the portobello taco which he liked too. We shared a Merida Mudd with the plantain chips as an appetizer, which was nice with the refried beans and cheese.

The only thing is that you would probably end up eating three tacos each if you were really hungry, at $6 or $7 a piece!! So, it strikes me more of a light snack before the bars kind of place, not for a full meal.

Pros: Good service, quick and attentive, Delicious tacos with great flavours, vegetarian, Beers are reasonably priced

Cons: Single taco per order, not filling, Loud noise coming from kitchen ventilation

Cons: Portions could be a bit bigger, given the price. B

Great food, needs vibe

Forget that the English translation for Lucha Verde (Fight Green) makes no sense. Forget that the walls are painted black and the music is inconsistent. Forget that the owner wears a t- shirt that says "doughnut addict". Forget all this because the food at this new vegetarian/vegan option restaurant is delicious.

The "simple street food" menu features selections from 4 categories (start, snack, tacos, dessert) each priced between $6 and $10. The highlight for me was the mushroom stuffed chili relleno taco topped with cactus salsa. My friends enjoyed the kabocha stuffed squash blossom taco and the achiote cauliflower taco with toasted pumpkin puree and orange salsa. We also enjoyed the merida mudd starter, a "salsa" made with refried beans and served with plantain chips. I would have had the $6 key lime pie cup for dessert but I ran out of money.

One taco is definitely not enough and things start to add up, especially when you factor a beer or two. I get that rent is high on Davie street so I have a suggestion: drop the food truck theme and expand the menu to include some affordable entree-like options so people will want to stay and drink from the fully stocked bar, which is where all the money is. Also the place needs a vibe. Good music and some improved lighting would help.

With some improvements this really good vegetarian restaurant experience could be really great.

Pros: Food, Service, Cleanliness

Cons: Small portions, Music/vibe, Expense

Amazing Mexican vegan (and vegetarian) food

Holy [censored]. Ridiculous tacos, app's, and drinks. We were here from out of town on Canada Day and were shocked with every single dish brought to us, from eggplant ceviche and shishito peppers to 4 mind-blowing vegan tacos, from jackfruit BBQ to squash with watermelon salsa. Top 5 for us and we've been around the world!
