Excellent vegan cuisine! - Edit
We were positively surprised by the great menu and the quality of the dishes. A menu of the day is available every day, but we chose dishes a la carta. We liked everything very much! Delicious ramen, empanizado, hamburgers, hot dog and for dessert delicious moca cake and pan de muerto! The interesting way of serving ice tea was the icing on the cake:)
Read moreLow prices with high quality products, big portions and caring staff. The location is a bit far from the center, but it's definitely worth going there! Attention: the day we went it was open from 2 pm.
Pros: delicious food , Low price with high quality., varied and interesting menu

The menu was delicious, and not very oily like in many vegan mexican restaurants.
I wish they would be open on Sunday as well!

Ok, but doesn't live up to the Loving Hut name - Edit
They serve nice food, and I recommend coming here especially as a vegan/vegetarian.
Read moreAfter eating only bean tacos and guacamole for two days, I was excited to have other food. I've been to the Loving Hut in Toronto and had the best chop suey of my life. I guess that's why I had high expectations and ended up being a little disappointed.
My dad had a lentil burger which was somewhat bland. Soups were ok. We also had some Oriental style noodles which I'm sure were spaghetti, but otherwise ok. I ordered the fruit crepes and didn't like them.
Overall it's an ok vegan restaurant. However, by Loving Hut standards, it's not good enough. Somewhere between Mexican, international & Asian food it seems to have lost its way. Maybe the Supreme Master could pay them a visit?
Pros: Great diversity
Cons: They don't get all the dishes right

Amazing Jarocho Vegan Oasis - Edit
Absolutely fantastic... this should be the first stop for any vegan arriving in Xalapa. It's a bit outside of the center, but still walkable (30 mins) or easy to reach with a 5 minute taxi ride. Wonderful, creative vegan variations on Mexican dishes, including a superb buffet and great take-out. As the other commenter stated, be sure to follow this map and not any others (remember that it's at the intersection of Lucio Blano and Orizaba). Also note that the hours on the site are incorrect as of Oct. 2012 - they close at 6. Friendly and involved owner and great staff - highly recommended!

Amazing vegan paradise - Edit
In a very vegan-unfriendly city, this restaurant is an oasis. I ate a hot dog, a burger, enchiladas, fries, wedges, spaghetti and more. It is a big, open and clean eatery with top views from the second floor location. As with all Loving Huts, everything is completely vegan. Even the milkshakes!
Read moreGo by the address on HappyCow only. Do not look at the address on the official LH Xalapa website. It is incorrect. I found out the hard way!
I reviewed the restaurant in more detail on my blog: http://fatgayvegan.com/2012/08/24/rescued-by-loving-hut/
Pros: Vegan milkshakes, Inexpensive, Tasty, nutritious food
