Delicious food, low prices, and lovely staff. - Edit
I really enjoy the food here. There is a vast menu and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Plus, I have found the staff to be very lovely. I highly recommend this place.

Delicious - Edit
9/4/2021 I booked last night and the food was delicious. I had wonton soup as an entree and a noodle dish for the main. Both were really tasty. Friendly service too
Read moreI’ve rang ahead and collected take away twice so far. The first time I got fried wontons, and a green curry and coconut rice. I really enjoyed it. It was a good service size and really tasty. I also had the vegetable curry and tofu puffs. The flavour was great. I’m looking forward to eating at the restaurant so I can try the dessert.

Been here a couple of times and the meals are large serves but not a lot of flavour. I'm always a little disappointed. Maybe because it has so many positive reviews my expectations are too high. The sticky date pudding was delicious.

Vegan heaven! - Edit
As a vegan on her first ever trip into Melbourne, I had to try Loving Hut. And I'm so pleased to write that they didn't disappoint. It's a quiet andneat little place with a vibrant feel to it. You can hear the kitchen bustling next to you making all the food fresh to order. I ordered the Burmese salad, pan friend dumplings, Mongolian bbq and the cauli wings from the specials board. A lot of food for one person but I'll likely not get this opportunity again for a long time. Couldn't fault anything in the food or service. My meals came out quickly and were so delicious! The Burmese salad is so fresh and full of veges, the mock meats are amazing and all the dishes were full of amazing Asian flavors. If you're in Melbourne, I highly recommend visiting this place!

I had some sort of soup with rice noodles there couple of weeks ago. I liked the soup but the service was great and I'm looking forward going there again. Very nice staff. It's also great that everything is vegan.

Bland Beyond Belief - Edit
Despite this restaurant’s location across the road from my work, I will likely be settling on Hungry Jack’s Cheezburger or Subway when I forget my lunch in future. A CBD restaurant that opens during lunch time cannot really get away with taking half an hour to get the customer’s lunch on the table. So after such a long wait (and having omitted breakfast that day), I was very excited to discover what deliciousness had been concocted during that time.
Read moreA bowlful of slushy melted rice vermicelli with a handful of hokkien noodles, a few (and I mean ‘few’) pieces of vegetable sitting on top; one or two cubes of ‘sponge’ tofu sliced into pieces; covered in the most tasteless ‘laksa’ I have ever had this side of Malaysia. Doused it in chilli, chilli sauce, vinegar and lemon (yes *lemon*: no lime) in an attempt to make it more palatable, and still ended up leaving half of it.
I get that SE Asian Buddhist vegans don’t use onion or garlic (which tends to be substituted with MSG, sugar and salt in SEA); so if this venue is attempting to maintain a healthy menu, they’ll be avoiding such ingredients. If this is the result, however, they really need to get back to the drawing board and work out how to create some flavour in their food (or perhaps this is what ozzies like, judging by the reviews).
Pros: vegan, central location , friendly service
Cons: bland, tasteless, ‘westernised’ (aussified) meals

JUST WOW! - Edit
Ordered the satay skewers and Burmese salad for starters, and the skewers tasted so much like meat it was CRAZY. The Burmese salad had the best dressing and was super refreshing, had the Tom yum soup and royal rendang for mains and both were absolutely amazing. Everything tasted so much like the real thing and had so much flavour, didn’t feel like I was eating ‘vegan food’ at all. My non-vegan mum LOVED EVERYTHING!

Excellent vegan south east Asian and Asian dishes - Edit
Love that everything is vegan at this restaurant. I've had the char kuay throw and hor fun. Both were delicious helping me reminisce Malaysian food. I also enjoy their raw papaya salad. Super friendly service. Never feel rushed in here.

Disappointing - Edit
After an amazing experience at Loving Hut Singapore, we came to Loving Hut West Melbourne with high expectations. Rather than a restaurant, however, this is more of canteen, with tiles on the floor and very basic furniture. The Sweet and Sour Nuggets were nothing like those that we so loved in Singapore unfortunately, neither in taste or texture. In relation to the basic setting and the mediocre quality of the food, prices were very high. The Remedy kombucha that is sold everywhere else for $4.5-$5 costs $6 here, which is really overpriced for a place like this. With ample choice of restaurants in Melbourne with excellent vegan dishes, this is not a place I would return to.

Great atmosphere and yummy food. - Edit
I hadn't been in since this place was The White Lotus. I miss the old restaurant, but Loving Hut is a worthy replacement. The new paint job is bright and cheery, the staff are super friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious. The only thing I would suggest is a smaller ice cream dessert for children, but the staff were perfectly willing to split a small sundae across two bowls for my kids. We will definitely be back.

Excellent food, not the best for large groups - Edit
The food was delicious but I went with a group of 10 (made a reservation) and the food all came out at vastly different times. One of my friends had finished eating before 4 of us got our food. The staff was friendly, it was just a bit awkward timing.
