Great menu and surroundings - Edit
We loved this restaurant although we visited at a random time so it was lacking in atmosphere. delicious food and great choice. Found it good value for Reykjavik

Subpar - Edit
I was looking forward to finally being able to try a Loving Hut since they have so many different options. I've never tried vegan ham or shrimp before so I was pretty excited.
Read moreBetween 4 of us, we tried their fried dumplings, summer rolls, beef banh mi, pork banh mi, ocean vermicelli, and fried noodles with veg and chicken.
Summer rolls were my favorite thing, and really the only thing I'd recommend getting. I couldn't stomach more than 2 bites of the pork banh mi (the color of the pork was green and off putting).
Dumplings were good and standard. Beef banh mi was marinated in Chinese five spice.
Shrimp in the ocean vermicelli was interesting. Texture was gelatinous (but solid). Chicken in the fried noodles were a little limp and slimy.
Meh.
Pros: Unique, Friendly staff

All in all okay - Edit
The burger was delicious, but the ambience was a bit uncomfortable and it's quite a walk away from the center.

The food was omg - wonderful indeed!!! I swear I could eat here every day :). We had Happy summer and Pad Thai. That's why we came here the second day - but the place was closed even if it was the regular time of their working hours... we were so dissapointed... But the food was Unforgetable.

There's so much choice and everything looked great! The vegan squid was super crunchy and the pho was delicious (very difficult to eat though!) I will definitely be trying here again before the end of my trip.

Great vegan food, very good value - Edit
Can always rely on Loving Hut and this one is no exception. Ordered the golden tofu starter and a fake chicken and tofu noodle dish for mains. Came in at about £16, which for Iceland was very good value, especially as the portions was so substantial I ended up taking quite a lot away with me. This branch also had a couple of Beyond burgers on the menu. It’s a bit canteen like - if I had one criticism, it could do with more atmosphere and less bright lighting, but can’t fault it really.

#notmything - Edit

All vegan, All fried - Edit
The owner is a nice guy who tried he's best to Talk german with us. That was funny. The food was good but unfortunatelly most of the menu is fried. Well, thats typical for asian fast food dishes. The restaurant is a little bit old. It was a cold day and there was only one electrical heater in the big room.

I recommend the crispy tofu - Edit
I took my omnivore boyfriend who doesn't like vegetables to Loving Hut, and he loved it!
Read moreWe shared a crispy tofu starter which was a bit like fried camembert but vegan. Apparently they make their own tofu. Then we both had the Beyond burger.
I was pleased to see that there were several gluten-free options (Loving Hut in London had all of one, last time I looked).
Wheelchair accessible with help - there is a wide door but a moderate step which my power chair struggled with. Also a fully accessible toilet.
Pros: Fully vegan, Wheelchair accessible toilet
Cons: Expensive - but it's Iceland!, Supreme Master TV

Fantastic Seitan Salad - Edit
Fresh and tasty and, finally, a very healthy meal on vacation for me. It easy for me to find vegan food…but it’s not always healthy food! LOVE this second location as the other is a far walk from where we are staying!

This was some of the best food we’ve had in a long while. I’d highly recommend here even for non vegan as it’s very tasty. The value for money was good too. Shame they don’t do starters as we’d have been able to have more tastes and flavours.
