Loves Cafe - Edit
Nice cafe set on two levels with plenty of indoor seating. I didn’t have a booking but there was no problem accommodating me. Regularly changing menu, only feedback I would have is it’s a little limited on choice and every option involved a bread product this week which may not suit everyone. I went with the pesto mushrooms on sourdough, my goodness this was so mouthwateringly delicious! Decent sized portion, felt it was good value. Cold, hot and alcoholic drinks on offer. Accepts cards. Step free entrance to ground floor area and toilets also on this level. Dog friendly cafe. Staff friendly and welcoming. Loved the maps decorating the walls. Only open in the evening for special events.

Nice food, spotty service - Edit
Stopped by on a relatively quiet Sunday. We took a couple of seats upstairs to watch the world go by.
Read moreWe had a little wait before we could order our drinks and, when we eventually came to order our food, the things that we were not available, which was a shame.
I ordered the shakshuka, while my husband had beans on toast with a side of bubble and squeak.
In the end, we waited well over an hour for food. When we noticed that there were tables that had arrived after us getting their food, I enquired and it turned out there had been confusion in the kitchen and our ticket was at the end. The staff were lovely and very apologetic about the mix up. We waited yet longer for our plates to arrive...
We'd almost given up, but I'm glad we hung on as the food was fab. Really decent portion sizes for the price (huge bowl of shakshuka!). Really hearty and warming food.
Pros: Decent sized meals, Delicious food
Cons: Hit and miss service

Food was nice - Edit
Visited as a group of 6 and due to our trip being last minute we hadn’t booked. But thankfully they were able to accommodate us. They were out of a few things but think we arrived towards the end of the lunch and they had been busy. The food was nice though

Loved this place - Edit
Got the bubble & squeak with beans and lemon spinach. I'd never had this dish before and I loved it so much! My partner got the bravas quesadilla and it was lovely as well. We had the banoffee cake for dessert, also a 10/10. I'll be back! We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures before eating. They rotate the menus so might find a completely different one every time you go, which to me is a plus.

Amazing toasted sandwich - Edit
Just on a day trip from Bristol and it’s lovely to be able to get vegan food in a seaside town. They had a limited menu but all the dishes were really different. I had the pesto and cheese toastie and added mushrooms. The sandwich was huge and full of flavour. I think the pesto was well balanced in the toastie. The flat white was nice too.

Lovely food - Edit
The food was gorgeous, I had the toastie that was served in a wrap instead of bread but was lovely and partner had mushrooms on toast. Excellent food, however service was poor. Maybe it was the waiter's first day but he didn't know what drinks they sold, bought the ice after we'd finished our drinks, serviettes never arrived despite being asked. All simple things. Maybe putting the drinks on the back of the menu might have helped.

My favourite place in the South West! - Edit
My partner and I found Loves over the lockdown whilst we were back home in Weston Super Mare. The people who run it are the friendliest, most accommodating people, and the food is always utterly stellar! Over lockdown we would visit weekly to pick up delicious Cake Babe vegan cupcakes and 'sausage' rolls, and when it opened back up we enjoyed some delicious dishes from their ever changing menu, made fresh with (I believe) locally sourced ingredients. I'm unsure if Loves are still running their pop up style layout indoors, but it was definitely worth a visit as they always had lovely vegan cheeses, kombucha, craft beers and plants available to buy! I'm looking forward to being back in the south west and going back to Loves ASAP!

Disappointed - Edit
Drove an hour and a half to eat here and when we got in the door we were told they were closing an hour and a half early due to the manager having an appointment.. very unprofessional. Just because you cater to a certain group (vegans) doesn’t mean you can’t follow the same code other restaurants follow. You wouldn’t get this at a Pizza Express, why should we take it here just cause you serve vegan food

Flavoursome fresh food supporting local companies - Edit
This cafe has a changing menu but some items (such as the breakfasts) always stay on the menu. I had the tree huggers breakfast which is an English breakfast with homemade beans, bubble and squeak, avocado, mushrooms, tofu scramble and sourdough toast. They also support local vendors by ordering cakes from across the road. The food is flavoursome and healthy but don’t expect super large portions. Lovely decor and cosy and warm upstairs.
Read morePros: Warming flavoursome food, Friendly staff, Amazing cakes/brownies
Cons: Not an extensive menu, Portions on the smaller side
