MMMMM, DO-nuts!! - Edit
My husband is a traditionalist. He got regular, chocolate glazed, and cinnamon sugar donuts, like he remembered from childhood. I was more adventurous, and even though I haven’t ever really liked Boston cream pie, it sounded like it’d be a great donut. It was fantastic! I also went a bit traditional with a regular glazed brioche, and today I will venture the mango raspberry, which has been in the freezer. I was told they freeze well, but I bet they generally don’t hang around long enough for the need to freeze them!

Gorgeous delicious vegan donuts - Edit
Also gluten free donut options. I tried the raspberry cheesecake, Boston creme, pina Colada, strawberry lemonade glazed, and they were absolutely delicious. I gave some away because I couldn't finish them and my friend loved them also. The lavender yuzu latte was so good.

Best Vegan Donuts!! - Edit
Lovebirds Donuts has the best vegan donuts I’ve ever had. Their special flavors change monthly and there is plenty of variety to try. Their glazed brioche is one of my favorites, simple but delicious.

Worth the drive. - Edit
I've been eating their donuts since their opening day and they've done nothing but improve to perfection (they were good from day one but every time I go back they seem to get better). The atmosphere is really nice too, lots of windows and good seating. Very clean. The coffee is good too and staff has always been really friendly. Its close to a two hour drive for me but sometimes I need their donuts that bad.

So happy this place exists - Edit
I’d been dying to have a donut since going vegan but none of the local places have animal-free options. Lovebirds is about 30 minutes from our house but worth the drive every time. My wife and I have probably been ten times, going once a month to try their flavors which change every month. They have a few great standbys and then some fun seasonal options. Both their cake and brioche donuts will knock your socks off and make you wonder how it’s vegan. Some of the flavors are just okay, but we always get 4 or more to try out a bunch over the course of the day. If you get there before 8am on the weekend, there isn’t much of a line, but it starts picking up after that. The trade off is that they sell apple fritters starting at 9am (and sometimes a little early) and if you get them fresh and warm it might make you cry. May’s salted brown sugar apple fritter was one of the best donuts we’ve ever had. Great selection of coffee beverages as well and the employees are generally really friendly despite having to get up so early.

Amazing that the employees are not comprised with masks. They deserve their breath. I am happy for them. The food was great.

Hi Alina, so glad you enjoyed the donuts. We can't quite tell whether you are suggesting our team is not wearing masks, or instead that you wish they were not wearing masks. Our company follows all CDC-mandated COVID safety protocols, as is the law. This includes that all team members are required to wear masks while at work. Wonderful place for vegan donuts! - Edit
I live in Salem, MA and popped over to lovebirds on a weekend where we were quarantined with nothing else to do, and we’ve gone a couple times since! They take orders online and once we parked, they were outside with the donuts! I would recommend placing the order the day before if possible. The lemon lavender donut was phenomenal!

Great donuts, but employees not wearing masks - Edit
Read moreUPDATE:9/24/20 Still love these donuts and the existence of a vegan bakery but the kitchen is windowed and none of the employees were wearing masks while prepping the donuts.
Good procedure keeping masks on while interacting with customers and outdoor ordering.
Amazing donut shop! Be sure to try the Boston cream! I can’t bring myself to leave without a full dozen, these are the most high quality donuts I have ever had. The coffee is also fair trade and the shop is adorable. There is also a window to view the kitchen!
Pros: Holy cow the donuts are so good , Amazing coffee, Adorable shop
Cons: Poor mask protocol

Amazing donuts! Really cute shop and friendly people. They don’t really advertise that they are vegan donut shop which I found interesting. We went there 3 times and brought home a dozen to our family. Worth a stop! Get there early because they can run out of flavors.

Beautiful donuts! - Edit
Cute location, friendly staff and beautifully presented donuts. I've been here twice so far, both times in the afternoon, and the donuts I've tried have been a little bit stale. I suspect that the fresh, natural ingredients they use mean the shelf life isn't very long. I'm excited to go again, first thing in the morning, to try some fresh, hot donuts.

Best. Donuts. Ever. - Edit
The best donuts you will ever have period. Such a huge selling point that all their donuts are vegan, and they also have delicious Gluten Free options. Their donuts and drinks are carefully made and you can tell. Staff is very professional and friendly. I enjoy every time I go in and grab some donuts. The decor and ambiance is great as well. Not only are the donuts delicious, every kind they have are so beautiful to look at. Every time I go into their shop they have new fun flavors, they always keep it fresh and different— flavors I’ve never had before with donuts.

Excellent! - Edit
My husband and I have gone to lovebirds at least twice a month since they’ve opened, and their rotating monthly flavors never disappoint. I haven’t had a flavor I didn’t like. The brioche is so pillowy and soft. I just got a blueberry fritter this morning and seriously, wow. I don’t drink coffee but both the chai and matcha lattes are great and they use oat milk by default which I am so stoked about. Staff is so nice, lots of parking, plenty of places to sit even when it’s slammed (which it almost always is on weekends when we go). They’ve also done a number of fundraising events. It’s really cool to see that they’re creating community. I’ll support this place forever and ever.

Lovebirds Donuts - Edit
This place had many great vegan donuts. My family and I tried the blueberry jam filled, the chocolate glazed, brioche glazed, s’mores, and Boston cream. The chocolate was my least favorite since it was a cake donut. The Boston cream and jelly were amazing. Jelly donuts were my favorite when I wasn’t vegan so I was so happy to have one again. The rest of my family is non vegan, and they didn’t have any complaints about the donuts. The jelly was also there favorite since it was so fluffy, almost like a croissant. The staff was very nice too. I highly recommend going to Lovebirds!

Every donut is delicious! - Edit
My favorites were the glazed brioche, choc glazed, blueberry, chai, blueberry fritter. But they were all delicious! My non-vegan fam loved the Boston creme, glazed choc, glazed brioche, blueberry, chai, monkey muffins and the blueberry fritter. I loved them so much I had to go back for more! Go early to make sure you get pick of all the flavors!

A little slice of heaven in Maine! A beautiful establishment with welcoming, lovely people, let one of the owners working the counter. Such a delicious selection and all very fair priced compared with previous vegan donut finds. It’s totally worth the hour drive from Boston. Would definitely be back any time I’m in the area. Support local vegans!
