Last meal out on this road trip

Love’s Light is a place in STL. I have not been here before even though it is closer to my home town. Yummy Falafel sandwich and Herb potatoes.

Healthy and delicious vegan food

Vegan restaurant and wellness center in St. Louis

Food ****
Food was very good here. Made extremely fresh with the kitchen right there. Felt very from the heart, home cooking. We got the Chickpea Masala and the Tofu with ginger and peanut sauce. Both were very good, however the Masala was very spicy without indication, which was the only negative, so I would ask your server if you have any aversion to spices. We also got the Sacral smoothie which was also very good but basically tasted just like a strawberry banana smoothie. They have very interesting drinks though, we wanted to try them all!

Atmosphere ****
This place has such a family atmosphere. We were greeted by a whole slew of people, they were all hanging out, singing and dancing. We got there late and we were the only people there but they were so welcoming and friendly.

Service ****
I think we were served by the owner which was so cool. Food was super quick and very fresh!

Price $$$
This was on the more expensive side, which was surprising to us, although portion sizes are decent. Under $20 a dish.

Delicious foods and smoothies!

Have been there twice now. I’ve tried the breakfast platter and the Tofu Bulgogi. They are both really good dishes! I’ve also tried the green ginger smoothie and it’s very creamy and delicious! Will certainly be coming back several times to try other items.

Pros: Everything is vegan, Large variety of flavor profiles

Cons: Can be expensive, but fairly priced

Good variety of vegan food

Small vegan cafe and wellness store. The menu has a good variety of meals, all made fresh. We had a tofu rice bowl, jackfruit, and a couple smoothies. Will definitely be back to try more.
The to-go cooler was empty when we were there, not sure if they are no longer making meals in advance or maybe only later in the day? We were there at lunchtime.

Pros: Good food, Lots of good choices, Walking distance from my home

Cons: none

Incredible

Had the jackfruit pita and potatoes with sriracha Mayo- it was great, and loved seeing the aeroponic produce growing!

Great food, Great Value, Wonderful People

I had the BBQ Jack Fruit burger with Alfredo cheesy potatoes. It was quite delicious. The brownies and latte were good too. I enjoyed every single bite. Prices were good and in line with other vegan places that I go to, but the quality is higher ( all organic, gluten free, locally sourced). All around I had an amazing first experience and look forward to going back. Keep up the great food, great ingredients, and outstanding service and attention to customer needs from the owner.

Pros: Awesome Food and Drinks, Healthy and Organic, Great prices for organic high end ingredients.

Cons: Parking

Fresh, Healthy and Vegan

Full disclosure: my friend owns this cafe.

STL’s newest vegan cafe and market comes from the powerhouse who brought the city its first vegan restaurant back in 2008. There was hot cooked food for the grand opening, but right now they’re focusing on grab n go goods. Their fridge is stocked with a rotating selection of raw meals (pesto pasta, creamy rawfredo, etc), and sides that you can use to create a meal (varying veggies, falafel burgers, red bean dip, cashew queso, etc).

Everything is vegan, gluten-free, and organic. There are always several raw items too.

They also have a smoothie bar with a chakra themed menu.

I tried the creamy rawfredo dish and was surprised how good it was. I typically find raw food boring and bland, but this dish was really tasty and filling. $13

I also tried their Ginger Power smoothie. It was delicious and filling. Smoothies are $11.

For cooked food, I had the red beans tacos, jackfruit tacos, and coconut rice and peas. The jackfruit tacos were my favorite of the two tacos. The jackfruit was tender and flavorful. Perfect jackfruit execution! The coconut rice and peas (made with black-eyed peas) were fire! Everyone, including me, kept going back for more of these on opening day!

The cafe also sells products from local vendors and artists, including an amazing ginger beer, books, artwork, candles, sage, and so much more.

As I stated, this is my friend’s cafe, but I have always been (and will always be) 100% honest with them about whether something they’ve made is good or not, in my opinion. So imho, the food I had ranged from good to amazing. However, the prices are a bit high for some of the items. If this wasn’t my friend, I don’t know if I’d pay $11 for a smoothie of that size (it looks like a 16oz, but I’m not certain) or $13 for raw dishes. But I know that they use organic, high quality ingredients, so the pricing can be justified. The sides were priced reasonably though.

All I can say is check them out for yourself.

Pros: All vegan and organic , raw options

Cons: Parking
