Wow, so great! - Edit
Love Cafe is the dream vegan diner you hope to find when traveling. To start with, the staff were very helpful and friendly. I ordered a breakfast burrito which was huge and scrumptious. Friend ordered bisquits with gravy and we were both scraping the bowl it was so yummy! Thank you so much Love Cafe!

Delish vegan food - Edit
This place was heaven after a couple of camping in Yosemite. Had a delicious burger and shake. There was so much awesome food on their menu that I had difficulty to choose. Will visit again when back in the area. Visited 09-2019.

Love Cafe, Oakhurst - Edit
I am there right now, and the food (real food) is awesome . Some of the negative reviews crack me up. They remind me of the joke where the guy says, "the food was terrible. And, there wasn't enough of it." LOVE CAFE'S GRUB = CRAZY GOOD. I LOVE ME SOME VEGGIE SCRAMBLE WITH VEGAN BACON.

Worth the trip - Edit
I wish I could eat at this place for every meal. They have seasonal options, a great selection of desserts, and everything I've ordered has been a delight. It's so nice having a place that you can grab breakfast at before going on a hike, or maybe lunch while checking out the lovely little town of Oakhurst.

SO good! - Edit
After a week of camping in Yosemite in the freezing cold, this place was like a warm hug of deliciousness. We come to Yosemite every year, and this will always be a stop on our journey.

Sub par food, unnecessary sexism - Edit
The first thing you are greeted by as you enter the parking lot is a large mural of a busty female ranger sexualized, in the same pose as half naked women seen frequently on t shirts and the back of trucks. We are intersectional vegans. It is sad how much the vegan community still perpetuates sexism in the form of sexual objectification.
Read moreImagine a man in a pose like that with improportionate body parts. It's easy to the see how ridiculous and unnecessary it is to constantly objectify women and young girls in this manner. What does this teach young girls and young boys? That no matter what women do, they should expect to be sexually objectified and that it's okay for men to objectify women in any scenario, especially the mundane. So long as it's done in a 'classy' manner.
The owners clearly went to a lot of effort to pay someone to create that mural on their wall. Why couldn't have been a female ranger being a ranger? Apparently they wanted 'Jane the love ranger' (wonder why it's not 'Jack the love ranger'). It's disgusting how people will perpetuate sexism to further their own popularity. The mural should say, "be kind, don't objectify."
Athough we do appreciate there was a vegan restaurant in this town, we don't appreciate the unnecessary objectification of women that they perpetuate. You don't have to objectify women or be prejudice in any way in order to support or get the word out about veganism.
Hopefully the vegan community will step up and start to change this behavior.
They did a good job of having gender neutral restrooms.
Apart from having to deal with the unnecessary sexism the place was a decent size and the food was below average, large portions with high prices. We can make better food at home but that wasn't an option on this trip. It is the only vegan place in the area and there were very few other vegan options.
Tofu scramble: the scramble seasoning tasted like mustard and tumeric, not very good. The potatoes were okay but mainly oil and salt. The bacon was very good.
Breakfast Burrito: okay, very large, taste was ok but could be improved, prefer to try bacon over the sausage next time.
Pizza: not what we expected. A sub bread cut in 4 pieces with marinara, veggies and a tiny bit of cheese. The marinara wasn't great, but not terrible. This was edible.
Meatball Sub: the marinara sauce was flavored weird and the meatless meatballs were gardien. The bread was ok.
*The breakfast gravy is turkey gravy not white breakfast gravy. It was also very lumpy. It's sad that so many vegan restaurants do this especially when it is so easy to make a good vegan breakfast gravy.
We would probably not order any of the above if we ever returned. We would try the other places on HappyCow or go to the grocery.
The only item we actually liked was the vegan bacon (and they bought that).
Bathrooms: gender neutral, no baby changing station, toilet was decently clean, but the floors and other areas did not appear to be cleaned regularly. It also smelled like a horse stall (I grew up with horses).
To second another reviewer we did not see gloves being used either.
The host was peppy and full of energy. The parking is small but there is additional parking in a lot nearby.
Pros: Vegan restaurant in this area
Cons: Unnecessary sexism and female objectification, Expensive

No one in the kitchen wears gloves. - Edit
I was just as excited to go here as every other vegan in the Central Valley, but about a year into going here I realized something... no one making the food In the Love Cafe wears gloves. This is a clear health code violation. No one in the kitchen should be touching ready to eat food with their bare hands, it’s a state law. I’m disgusted and I will not be going here any longer after what I have seen the past few times going there.

A gem in the valley! - Edit
I (a vegan) and my 3 friends (not vegan) came to Love on our way into Yosemite. Love offered plenty of options - ranging in cultures and flavors. I got the Beyond burger, which came a side of tortilla chips. it was great! I also got the cheesecake and all 4 of us were PLEASED!!! we wanted to come back but found out they are closed Sunday-Monday. the Cha Cha Cha bowl is good! avocado toast is small but tasty! I got the ginger carrot muffin and didn’t like it at all.

Just Right! - Edit
So glad to be able to ditch the hotel’s free buffet and get a real breakfast at Love Cafe! I had the tofu scramble. It was lots of food... piles of home fries and sausage, good whole grain toast and scramble with vegetables in it. Tasty and satisfying, I’m ready to face my day. My non vegan husband had the biscuits and gravy which he liked. Try it, you won’t be disappointed! Good down to earth vegan not pretentious. Friendly service, prompt but not over bearing.
