heavenly food in The Hague - Edit

The food here is great, they serve a hummus that's is no joke, it's sort of tapas with ingredients from Palestine. I went with a bunch of friends that aren't vegan and I'm
Not sure whether they or me enjoyed more. don't miss this place if you're in The Hague

Pros: food, quality of ingredients, service, atmosphere

Cons: none

Awesome place with the best hummus ever! - Edit

We went to Love and Peas during a day trip to Den Haag, with the intention of trying a small plate of hummus. We ended up having a lot more, due to the friendly owner giving us free food to try.
It was easily one of the best hummus(es?) I've eaten in my life. I'd recommend anyone to go there and would happily return on my next visit to Den Haag.
We also had some Austrian Ice Tea which was delicious and something I haven't seen anywhere else so far.

I've read people here complain about the price, a complaint that I don't think fair. The two of us would have been full and satisfied for little more than 10€. When you order a small serving, the plates may look small, but bread is for free (as much as you want), plus you get a little plate with veggies and pickles. Also the food is delicious and very filling, tastes great and the staff is friendly. Big plates come with lots of extras and unless you're super hungry, one will probably be enough for two people.

Pros: Great food, Super friendly staff, Nice environment

Mediocre Food High Prices - Edit

Overall the food was acceptable, definitely not mind-blowing. In our opinion the cauliflower was tortured. Maybe in Palestine it is normal to burn the outsides, but it gave a really strange taste. The spicy potatos were too spicy and the hummus was a bit tasteless. What was even more disappointing was the price. Two teeny tiny plates with cauliflower (literally 4 bites) cost 11 euros. We do appreciate the free treats, but they do not justify the high prices. To summarize: it is not such a big problem if the food is average (or the portions very small), but then the owner should definitely lower the prices.

Pros: Kind service, Nice decor

Cons: Mediocre food, High prices

Awesome - Edit

Nice spacious place that gives a bit the feel of a big living room, not so much because of the looks, but also because of the semi-open kitchen and the amazing hospitality. Decor is 70ies design which adds a nice touch.

Like I said, very welcoming people, great service, and they insiust of giving you all kind sof little things free of charge.

Food is very well done mezze, with several variations on humus being the main part of the menu. We had 8 different dishes, some extra pickles and salad, pita breads, lemin/mint water and coffee for just 30 euro.

Food is classic and well done, with a few things less common in The Netherlands. I don't really get the comments about the food being 'sour'. Yes it's not super salty or sweet, but out of the eight things we had only one was sour.

The place is very child friendly, which might not be everybody's cup of tea. Highly recommended overall.

Pros: Friendly, Extremely welcoming and great service

Cons: Toilet seat was broken

What a great place - Edit

I just loved 'Love and Peas'!
The food - authentic Palestinian cuisine - was super. They had many dishes which were absolutely great (I especially liked the hummus and the cauliflower - Yum).
The atmosphere was great - the minute I sat there I felt like coming home. Everyone were so nice to me and fulfilled all of my requests without hesitating, although I tend to annoy waiters sometimes with my special requests.
the place was vegan friendly,
child friendly,
gay friendly
and when I was there I realized I'm sitting in a restaurant with both Dutch, Palestinians, Israelis and Syrians. Isn't that great?

Pros: Awesome food, Very friendly staff, A homey place

Amazing! - Edit

Had a great lunch here! Very tasty dishes, everything freshly made, owners are extremely friendly and explained a lot about the ingredients and traditions when we asked about it. Great service, and really good prices. Portion sizes were perfect for us. I will definitely be going back again and again! :)

not so special - Edit

The falafel, tabouleh, potato's and humus were fine but not very special. I expected more unusual food but it was all very common. All is made fresh wile you're waiting. The portions are a little bit small (3 pieces falafel for 3 euro's). It is very noisy, we could not hear each other very well.

Pros: nice people

Cons: small portions

Can't wait for the dinner ;-) - Edit

This really nice restaurant opened only a few days ago. Presently they have a small menu card with mainly small things like mezze, salad and soup and four main courses: Rice with veggies, grilled eggplant, big filled falafel and "Mezze 4 Choix Du Chef". I had the "Mezze 4 Choix Du Chef" and they were delicious. They also have two desserts on the menu one of which is vegan (unfortunately they were not available during my visit). The owners are both extremely friendly and welcoming. The place has a very open atmosphere and made me feel welcome right away. They don't offer dinner yet, but they will do so in the very near future. And I am really looking forward to that!

Pros: delicious food, friendly owners, welcoming, open atmosphere
