A real delight - Edit
Lotus has a very welcoming ambience. It's a vegetarian restaurant, but all but three or so dishes are vegan. The staff are all really genuine, and the food is absolutely incredible. I highly recommend the faux pork dishes, and the battered salt and chili mushrooms.
The price is completely reasonable for the high quality of food and service. Main dishes average around £8-10
Pros: mostly vegan!
Cons: Too far from my house!

Great food cooked by lovely people - Edit
It feels good to spend money in a place like this, people who run it are super nice and welcoming, the love for their business shows in every detail, in the cute customised cutlery, the tasty tea imported specially from China, and of course absolutely delicious food, freshly made with no nasty ingredients.
I chose spring rolls to start with, they were lovely and the sauce that came with them was made on premises and it was the best sweet chilli dip I've ever had, it also went well with complimentary vegan "prawn" crackers.
My main was also the winner, salt and chilli tofu, crispy but beautifully soft in the middle, even fried rice was delicious, with a lovely smoky flavour.
My friend had Ma Po Tofu, it was also good but I'm not a big fan of soya mince so I didn't enjoy it as much.
I don't usually drink tea but this green tea I ordered was very nice, good value for money too for a big pot.
I'm definitely coming back, there are a lot of dishes I want to try, and the choice is big since most of them are vegan, to be honest I'm not sure why they even bother with the couple of veggie ones.
It's great to have Chinese food without worrying about hidden fish sauce, MSG, eggs and meat contamination. Also it's not as greasy as your usual takeaway.
Pros: Very welcoming , Amazing food , Good value, cheaper takeaway menu too
Cons: For me the only downside is that I don't live

At long last a veggie Chinese restaurant in Scotland. the vast majority of the menu is vegan and I think they are gradually changing it to adapt to requests.
we had spring rolls and dumpling to start, the rolls being the better of the two. Pretty good just missing a wee bit of seasoning.
we shared sweet and sour mock chicken and mapo tofu to share. both were good, the sweet and sour was tasty and the owner was delighted to tell me no colouring or msg was used
the mapo was more like a dofu with soya mince throughout. I prefer more bean like texture but a dish which changes depending on tradition, you can't expect it to be the same everywhere.
overall a great first visit and I'm looking forward to returning. delighted I can now to to a Chinese knowing it's deffo veggie. it's not the best I've been too, but I've been to a lot, but it's the best veggie Chinese in Scotland.
Pros: great owners, loads of vegan options. , tasty

My husband and I visited this restaurant 2 weeks after it opened and I have to say it was superb! The food was all freshly made and tasted delicious, the owner is passionate about fresh and healthy ingredients and you can taste that in the food.
The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely, the owner has put everything into opening this wonderful place and I will continue to visit and support this restaurant.
