So much choice! - Edit

Wow! A whole menu of vegan yumminess! Lots of gluten free options marked on the menu too. The only problem was deciding what to have!

Food arrived quickly and was very good. Not mind blowing good, but still very good. And it was reassuring to know there wouldn't be any sneaky animal bits in it by mistake!

Portion sizes were generous, I am generally a botomless pit when it comes to food, but even I ended up with leftovers to take away!

Prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. Service is very efficient and friendly - the gentleman shaking our hands at the end was a particularly nice touch! The restaurant is clean and modern.

I'd happily return if I visit Glasgow again, lovely place!

Pros: Great service, Tasty food

Cons: A bit of a walk from the centre

The best vegan chinese - Edit

The best Chinese I’ve had since being vegan. So many options, including prawn crackers, prawn toast and vegetable spring rolls along with the amazing options available for mains! Only problem is that there isn’t one in Aberdeen!!!

Amazing Vegan Chinese - Edit

This is a really amazing place offering the full range of Chinese dishes you’d expect, but everything is vegan and uses fake meat replacements. Really friendly owners who make you feel welcomed and seems to really want you to have the best meal. Everything I’ve eaten here has been delicious and I would highly recommend.

Awesome place - Edit

The £6.95 lunch is the best value food in the city. It is ridiculously cheap. The food is fantastic and at £6.95 for two courses and green tea they are practically giving it away.

The full evening menu is more expensive but remains good value. The menu choices are greater and the portion sizes are bigger.

Staff friendly and attentive. I've eaten in most of Glasgow's noted Chinese restaurants as a meat eater and non-meat eater but the food available here is at least as good, if not better, than anywhere else in the city.

Pros: Lunch deal is outstanding value, Wide range on evening menu

And sweet and sour vegan chicken
Taste just like the meat version

Loads of choice

Relaxed atmosphere

late - Edit

We arrived on Saturday evening and had to wait 1hr and 45 minutes for food. The order was also wrong until we corrected it. The flavour of the food just wasn’t there. Honestly so excited for this and it was quite disappointing. But the staff were lovely and super apologetic.

Pros: great hosts

Cons: slow, lack flavour

Heavy on the grease and plastic in my food. - Edit

The food was a bit hit and miss. Some things were packed full of flavour and absolutely delicious, others completely tasteless.

I was expecting a certain amount of greasyness but it was just overload for me then to top it off finding a chunk of hard sharp plastic in the food. They explained it's from a broken tub in the kitchen they didn't notice. it's just put me off going back.

Lovely! - Edit

We visited late on a Friday evening, just before closing, and found everything just lovely and very welcoming. The staff were charming - attentive and friendly - and the food was super tasty. We enjoyed munching on vegan prawn crackers as we waited for our food. I had the vegan sesame prawn toast which was great fun and my partner had delicious crispy tofu to start. The mains were equally lovely - my beef in black bean sauce was yummy. This really was a lovely dining experience and I would highly recommend a visit !

Pros: friendly staff , delicious food

This made me very happy! - Edit

After reading the enthousiastic and positive reviews about this restaurant, we decided we had to go here. It is really a great place for good vegan food. A lot of options, we choose vegan prawn crackers, vegan pulled chicken and vegan pulled pork. They even serve vegan duck. We had a great meal, with even a vegan desert.

Pros: Lots of options, great taste, nice people and good

A must-visit! - Edit

Me and my partner went to Lotus last night for dinner while visiting Glasgow and were beyond impressed. The choice and the portions were fantastic and the prices were fair, but the service was exceptional. The owner and his staff give the personal touch and make you feel very welcome. Already desperate to go back again!

Pros: Lots of choice, Good portions, Fair price

Cons: Slightly out of town

vegan prawn toast and prawn crackers :o i made a happycow account just so i could hype up this place because it's probably the best restaurant in the world.

no more expensive than your bog standard chinese takeaway, if anything probably slightly more affordable. a true gem.

At last!! Chinese food that really is veggie! - Edit

Stopped in on the spur of the moment on way home from work. Wasn't expecting much to be honest but the place was really busy for a thurs. I had singapore noodles which were amazing. Spicy, fresh and flavoursome. Boyfriend who is a rampant carnivore had chinese vegetable curry and rice and loved it. I would definitely go again and try some of the other dishes on their very varied menu.

Pros: Lots of choice

Cons: Main meals could be a bit cheaper.

Amazing food and service - Edit

I've been here several times, I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it yet. I never used to eat much Chinese food years and years ago before I went vegan. I love tofu, and their curry tofu and tofu in black bean sauce are two of my favourite dishes. However what is new to me is Chinese vegetarian versions of mock meats. While the Kung Po Chicken is also one of my favourite dishes, I am not a fan of the vegetarian beef, it is very realistic.

I've tried a few different things on the menu and keep going back to same mains. Personally, none of the starters or desserts excite me that much, but then it wouldn't suit the cuisine to have the sorts of desserts or starters I can find at other vegan restaurants in Glasgow. I am very happy at having two mains, and trying out a new dish they have added to their menu since I was last in.

Service is excellent. The staff remember their customers and are genuinely keen to make sure you have a pleasant experience and enjoy your food. I would always suggest here to anyone coming to Glasgow and looking for a recommendation. At £8 - £10+ for a main without rice it may seem a little bit expensive, but the complimentary green tea and prawn crackers makes up for this.

Pros: Fresh, delicious food, Variety of dishes, all vegan, Excellent service

Fantastic vegan chinese - Edit

Living in Glasgow we have plenty of choice these days. But this has became one of my favourite place to go - infact when eating out now it's a really struggle not to opt to just go here.

Before I talk to you about the food - lets talk about the owners. They run this place which means they are out on the floor talking to every customer. They are friendly and not in the "will you leave me alone" way. They want you to enjoy their food, if you have any issues tell them. I have eaten here a few times, one of the times my meal came with green peppers which I am not a fan of - the owner noticed I hadn't eaten them and commented telling me to tell him next time. The owners on there own before you even get to food sell this place. Now to the food,

You have 2 options - come for the cheap lunch deal with an extremely limited menu or pop in for dinner and eat off the full and extensive menu. I've done both and not been disappointed.
They have quite good starters - the spring rolls are so tasty and the prawn toast is amazing! The prawn Crackers are a great treat too!

Their curry is amazing - I've tried all 3 - tofu, chicken and the beef. The chicken is my favourite however the other 2 are just as tasty. They also make their own"mock duck" which again is fantastic.

I've never had a bad meal here and would say whether your visiting or live in Glasgow, this place cannot be missed!

Pros: Great owners, Fantastic food

Cons: I can't go every week!

Friendly staff, food was okay - Edit

A really nice atmosphere and staff, but we were rather disappointed by the food, as it was not really warm and for our taste a bit boring. We waited for more than one hour, which was annoying. Probably wouldn't go there again.

The existence of this place makes me so happy - Edit

Amazing Chinese food! The crispy shredded chicken, both the sweet chilli and salt & spicey ones are amazing. Never thought we'd eat this dish again. Chow mein spot on, spring rolls 10/10....everything truly delicious. Whole menu is vegan with loads of options. My omni wee gran, who is usually highly suspicious of anything vegan, thinks their prawn toast it the best she's ever had. Love this place.

Pros: staff, all the food, price

Cons: don't deliver! but maybe that's a good thing ;)

yummy with exceptional service - Edit

We had a fabulous family meal here. An amazing thing for me as I can't normally eat Chinese food due to MSG sensitivity. Lotus has none, as they believe flavours speak for themselves! They are so right.
Top for me were the chilli and salt tofu, broccoli, prawn toast, and beef style dish. Kids lobbed the sweet and sour pork best. We cleared every plate of everything, and were so full, yet the price was very reasonable.
The couple from Hong Kong who run the restaurant are attentive and kind, perfect hosts.

Pros: all vegan and delicious , no MSG, fast and friendly service

Cons: so much choice its hard to decide

Best chinese food ever - Edit

I've never been a huge fan of chinese food, but thays probably because I had never visited Lotus! I've been dreaming of the salt and chilli aubergines ever since. The portions are a good size to share around, I also got a side of noodles which were incredible. It was also a hit with my carnivore friends! We'll all be back soon. The staff are brilliant, so friendly and all the food is vegan. No alcohol, which actually was quite nice to have a civilized evening! 100% recommend this restaurant.

Pros: Incredible food, Friendly staff, Handy location

Cons: It was a bit cold, take a jumper!
