Best in Bandu, Rajabhat University area

I really wish this place stayed open for dinner, as I pass it on the way back to the city every time I bike north but am rarely around for lunch hours. Definitely happily surprised to find it open on a Sunday, though.

The buffet has about five very large trays, and the dishes are mostly quite spicy, including the ginger mushroom soup. They throw in a nice, complimentary (and hot) soup along with being one of the cheapest veg. restaurants in the city. Three dishes, cold, rice and the soup only cost 35 Baht, and portions weren’t stingy.

I didn't test the friendly staff's English, but "point & grunt" ordering always works at these places.

Pros: Good mix of veggies and protein, spicy & mild, Very inexpensive and portions not too small

Cons: Closes relatively early in the day?, Limited seating, The small

Good for a fast lunch

Very cute and friendly owners. This restaurant doesn't offer much seatings, the food is cooked daily and stacked behind counters. They offer various Thai food with mock meats. I absolutely love their fried fysh, however they don't make a huge stock of it and they usually sell out by afternoon.

Pros: Tasty food, Close to airport and market

Cons: Not many tables

Worth a visit

Great food and really nice people. I had rice, vegetables, veggie fish with a soup which came to 45 Thai Baht or about £1. Not much English spoken but that shouldn't be an issue.

Pros: Tasty meals, Friendly staff, A bit of variety
