Clear Vegan Options - Edit

The menu is clear about what items are vegan, and there is also a desert/ bakery case that has some vegan options. I was disappointed with the food though. I ordered a vegetable curry, and the flavor was very blah, and it was expensive, I think around $15 for a bowl of vegetables. Unfortunately your choices are extremely limited in this town for vegan options. My 3 star rating is due to the location, in LA I'd give this place 1 star.

Pros: Vegan items clearly labeled, Friendly staff, Clean, relaxed atmosphere

Cons: Close early (8:00pm), Expensive, Lacks flavor

Awesome vegan choices - Edit

We were in Jackson for one night only, as we were flying back to Scotland the following morning after 4 weeks of road tripping. We had been mostly cooking our own food as we had been travelling in non vegan friendly places. We were so glad to find this place and have a proper meal. For a non vegan only restaurant I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of vegan options on the menu. Most things are either vegan or can be made vegan, and I think all the desserts were vegan. There was so much choice it was had for me to use. I had a lasagne and my husband had a noodle dish. We were both very happy with our meals. I also had the cheesecake for dessert which was amazing!

Unfortunately they don't serve alcohol (although you can bring your own, which we didn't realise until we were already there)

Pros: Friendly staff who know what is vegan , Good choice of vegan options, Can do dessert to go if you are full

Cons: They don't serve alcohol , Serves some meat, The dining area at the side was a bit bland

Happy for trying, but... - Edit

I heard about this place from my employer. I was very happy, because Wyoming is not veg-friendly state. I was not there, but my friends brought me a meal - falafel with french fries. The meal costed 15 $, so you would expect to be really good. It was NOT. The falafel just fell apart, what is unacceptable, it was very dry and not good at all. I was very disappointed. As much as I appreciate restaurants to have vegan options and be organic as well, I am not happy with this place and would not recommend it, at least try something else, because falafel was just awful. Please note that other food might be good.

Pros: organic, veg options in meat-eating state

Cons: expensive

Great restaurant - Edit

My family and I went here during our vacation and everyone loved it. Since I'm the only vegan in my family it was great that they had a variety of options for everyone. Almost everything on the menu was vegan or could be made vegan.

Pros: Great food, Lots of options, All organic

Cons: Closes early

Bit of Heaven - Edit

While visiting northwestern Wyoming, we couldn't have been happier to find this oasis for a perfect brunch! Absolutely delicious, very vegan friendly, and excellent service.

Pros: 100% organic, Vegan breakfast , All sauces/desserts vegan

Cons: Busy

Nicely cooked veggies - Edit

We went here for brunch, and the atmosphere was friendly and casual. The staff were great; service was quick.

Menu items are clearly labeled as vegan and/or gluten free (my friend actually has celiac's).

I had the Kale Avocado salad and Bombay Bowl. The salad greens were fresh, and the bowl veggies were nicely cooked (e.g. still a little crunchy!).

I'd recommend this place to friends.

Pros: easy to navigate menu, friendly staff, nice atmosphere

Wow!!! - Edit

Food was amazing!!! Everything was labeled as gluten free or vegan on the menu. So many vegan options. All sauces and deserts were vegan. Staff was very nice. We ate breakfast and dinner here for two days while in the area.

What a joke - Edit

40 minute wait for tofu breakfast tacos and tofu rancheros. We received egg tacos and egg rancheros. I hate throwing around the Vegan word but made sure to do it while ordering because I didn't want to get eggs. Nice try

Pros: Vegan options if you get the correct ingredients

Cons: We were served eggs, cramped, slow

Re-visited for breakfast - Edit

What a find in Jackson. Had no reservation so we had to come back 30 mins later. The place was packed with happy looking people and after our first bite we knew why. The food, the atmosphere, the juice, everything was good. They offer a fair choice of veggie and vegan dishes. Had a "green bowl" containing quinoa, spinach salad, avocado, pistachios and a tahini dressing and a vegan burger with truffle fries. Was so happy with my salad bowl, I didn't want to share with my partner... But the burger was excellent as well. As our motel did not serve breakfast we decided to come back for breakfast. They have a large offering with the choice to substitute meat for tofu or tempeh. We tried different pancakes (spelt and blue corn) and a frozen Acai-banana-goji berry-buckwheat granola bowl. That was a bit unusual for a breakfast dish but in the hot weather it was a light and refreshing alternative. We bought some baked doughnuts and cakes to take away and left as happy customers. If we are ever in Jackson again, we know where to go and eat!!

Pros: Atmosphere , Friendly staff, Town centre location

Can I please live at the Lotus Cafe - Edit

My (also vegan) husband and I were spending a day in Jackson on family vacation last week and our group included 2 vegans (us), 1 vegetarian, 1 omni who only eats chicken, 3 omnis who eat whatever and 1 who is quite passionate about the joys of meat eating. We looked briefly at the Lotus Cafe menu online and it sounded perfect for meeting all of our dietary needs.

We got there and I was so stunned that they had an extensive breakfast menu that could almost all be made vegan, plus lunch sandwiches, salads, bowls, and a case full of vegan desserts.

My husband got the pesto sandwich which he said was amazing. I ended up getting the Imperial Bowl (which seemed kind of lame considering all the options but it sounded so good) and it was amazing. My man said I put my head down in the bowl and didn't come up until 20 minutes later. It was fantastic.

Our waiter was super nice without being over-bearing, and when he learned that we were from Indy, he reminded us to drink lots of water because of the elevation, which I thought was really kind of him.

I really wanted to just sit there all day and sample all the vegan foods.

My only complaint is that I ordered tofu added to my bowl, because were were hiking in the Tetons that day, and even though the waiter repeated it back to me when I said it, it wasn't included in the bowl.

I want to go back to Jackson just for Lotus Cafe!

Pros: so. many. options. , delicious food

Cons: Bison Burger on the Menu - oh the irony.

Yummy VEGAN food!!!! - Edit

While visiting Jackson Hole, Wyoming...I surely thought we would be "vegan food challenged"...but...we found the Lotus Cafe!!! We ate there every day! All the vegan dishes we sampled were yummy. They have vegan pastries in the morning, but you have to get there early or they sell out. The service is hit-or-miss...sometimes you get great service & sometimes you don't. Can be loud if it is crowded & sometimes parking is an issue. It is a must for the weary vegan traveler.

Pros: many vegan options, fair prices, good servings

Cons: service is hit or miss, can be loud if crowded

Nice place - Edit

They are certainly aware of gluten free and vegan eating, and have a wide range of food and drinks for any time of the day at this nice cafe in Jackson. The only place in town we found that was like this so a real savior.

Pros: Wide range of choices, Open all day, Tasty food

Cons: Moderate-High pricing

Great selection of tasty, healthy options - Edit

The family was in Jackson on vacation in August and we were looking for healthy cuisine. This restaurant has a lot of raw, vegan and vegetarian options and it was delicious. It also has fresh made juices. We ate here almost every day and everyone was pleased with the quality and taste of the food. A real find and I would not hesitate recommending it.

Pros: Delicious cuisine, High quality ingredients, Many healthy options to choose

Vegan in Wyoming - Edit

Was here in September 2013. I can't tell you how surprised I was to find a restaurant with so many vegan options in Wyoming! As I recall, there were a looot of them, and the condiments (sour cream, etc) were vegan only. I had vegan nachos, which were quite good. The waitress was also friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients.

Gorgeous range of vegan food - Edit

I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the range of vegan foods here, especially considering this isn't a avegan/vegetarian only restaurant. We ate here 5 times in the few days we stayed in Jackson, as the quality of the food was always excellent and the number of different cuisines they offered meant we always had something different to try; healthy bowls, currys, pizza, waffles, thai, asian, mediterranean, puddings and 3 different options for breakfast! Everything is labelled very well and the staff are knowledgeable about the food. It was a tiny bit expensive, but I certainly don't begrudge the amount I spent as I really loved everything I ate.

Pros: huge range of food styles, huge range of vegan food, knowledgeable staff

Cons: a little expensive

Love this place! - Edit

Found this place thanks to happycow.net. We are staying in the area for a week and will be back for sure. Many vegan items to choose from. Wish I had a place like Lotus Cafe in my town.

Pros: Great vegan food selection, Friendly service, Casual atmosphere

Yay! Lots of vegan options - Edit

We were tired and hurting for vegan options once we went past the market listed here and it wasn't open. Looked like it was being remodeled or had closed.

Anyway, Red Lotus was good food, good portions, lots of choices, good desserts. We were thrilled. The only bummer was my picky vegan sun won't eat much of anything except vegan hot dogs, vegan spring rolls, or vegan nuggets. The spring rolls weren't on menu until dinner. I understand as I've worked in a kitchen before, but they are very strict on their times w/ lunch foods vs. dinner foods. But great food all around. I would return for sure. Also, almost anything on the menu can be made vegan which is a huge plus!

Pros: Good food, Many vegan choices, Reasonably priced

Cons: Strict times for breakfast, lunch, dinner

Words cannot describe this awesome place! - Edit

My family and I are vegetarians, and on a recent road trip, we found it very hard to find veg meals to satisfy our palates. You see we had to go to places which could satisfy my carnivore mother-in-law too. The Lotus Cafe had it all - it was satisfying to my mother-in-law and it definitely more than satisfied our taste buds. Their menu was extensive and everything was presented beautiful and was super delicious! We even bought several of their vegan baked goods to take with us on the road and enjoyed them hours afterwards - couldn't believe they were vegan - they were that good! The service was good, the place was beautifully decorated and the food was delicious! I wish we had one of these where I live - I would definitely frequent this place!

Pros: Lovely place, lovely people, Great food, vast menu, Many vegan/veg options

A Jackson jem - Edit

I was at the Lotus Cafe yesterday and was very impressed by the depth of their offerings. Gluten-free pizza crusts with the optional daiya cheeze was my choice (along with kale, eggplant, onion) and although small, the toppings and crust were tasty. I also ordered a strawberry-chocolate smoothie that was delicious.
The Lotus Cafe serves a variety of the omnivore favorites made vegan and vegetarian, including mexican (burritos and tacos) and oriental (kimchi soups, etc.). All sandwiches and pizzas can be ordered on house made gluten-free or whole wheat breads and crusts.
While clearly an establishment catering to the vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian, the Lotus cafe provides grass-fed meats to omnivores, making it a no-brainer choice for hosting less open minded relatives or friends.
The Lotus Cafe isn't too expensive, either. The pizza and smoothie I ordered were under 20$, together. Not too shabby.
Check out the Lotus Cafe!
(On a side note, the Lotus Cafe offers additional seating in the lounge.)

Pros: Vegan, GF, Price

What A Gem! - Edit

I was thrilled with Lotus Cafe. I came across them by chance while exploring Jackson, Wyoming. I'd first thought to grab breakfast and coffee at a separate location I'd spotted (I don't recall their name...Organic something), but the first place I spotted was closed on Sundays. I brought up Happy Cow on my blackberry and did a search for vegetarian friendly restaurants in town. Up came a small list, including Lotus Cafe which stated it was vegan friendly.

And, boy, are they ever! Nearly their entire breakfast menu was available as a vegan option. They source many local, seasonal and organic ingredients and their creativity shows in their delicious menu options.

It took a bit of consideration, due to their many options, my wanting to try absolutely everything and my habit of procrastinating, but I finally chose "The Custom". The Custom consists of Tofu Scramble, zesty breakfast potatoes, quinoa, steamed kale and a choice of sesame ginger sauce, béarnaise style citrus sauce or salsa & sour cream (I chose the béarnaise).

The tofu scramble was the best I'd ever tried, very close to my own recipe, having that touch of cumin and having been pressed enough to express all that extra liquid. The breakfast potatoes were delicious and made with rosemary and other herbs. The quinoa and kale were perfectly cooked. After so much camp food and 'make-do' food (I'd been camping and travelling for several weeks), I savored the kale, then the quinoa, then the tofu and couldn't finish the potatoes. I felt like I was eating a high-end meal in a bistro setting.

The coffee was outstanding as well (I had four cups!). They had almond milk and agave nectar on hand for me to have it just the way I wanted.

My waitress was friendly, energetic and warm. The atmosphere was cozy while not being cramped. The prices were outstanding for the location and ingredients and talent of the kitchen.

My only complaint is that I only found them the day I was leaving the Tetons. This restaurant has made my MUST VISIT list of places out west....or anywhere else for that matter.

Pros: Excellent Food, Wonderful Staff, Great Prices

Cons: So far from where I live!

What a Surprise - Edit

I discovered this place before traveling to Jackson from WI by visiting happycow. But, they are now known as Lotus Cafe and offer organic choices as well. I took breakfast "to go" and ate lunch here with my husband. I have been vegan for a few years now and my husband is an omnivore, so it was nice to find a place where both of us could enjoy a delicious meal together. I also bought the Enliven juice and a muffin. It was definately a treat to have this option in Jackson.

Pros: Convenient Location, Friendly Servers, Wide Selection

Cons: Slower Service, Slightly Higher Prices

Delicious! - Edit

This is the perfect restaurant for anyone and everyone! It has everything from raw food specials like raw pizza, to buffalo burgers! I especially enjoy it because it is the kind of food that I would prepare for myself, but this way, someone else makes it for me! Totally up to my health standards, go there!

Pros: Variety, Creativity, Atmosphere

Cons: sometimes slow service, a bit pricey
