Very overpriced for poor quality - Edit
We had dinner here while in Jackson. Yay for vegan friendly in WY, boo for the quality of the food here. The 2 stars are for our waiter, because he was great. The service in general pretty good. However, the food is grossly overpriced. The nachos were pretty gross with guacamole I’m pretty sure was processed and they just dumped it out of a package. Our salads each had only 2 ingredients and were $9 for a very very small portion. My husband got the vegan lasagna, it was tiny, more like lasagna soup, and costed a whopping $23. It was pretty much tasteless mush. My vegan burger actually smelled pretty bad, and didn’t taste much better. The truffle fries were burned. It’s a cute place, unfortunately the food is just not good. Pic uploaded of the burger and “lasagna.”

Great find in Jackson Hole! - Edit
Such a perfect setting for lunch! Upstairs balcony perfect for a few cocktails overlooking the street. Food was a majority vegan with a few meat options for others. Food was good, presented well, nice portions, and they even are very gluten aware.

Excellent Vegan Options - Edit
I was visiting Jackson for a weekend and was very interested in checking out the creative menu at Lotus, with many items marked that they were vegan or could be made vegan. On Saturday I was there for lunch and had the deluxe scrambled tofu breakfast sandwich. It came with a spicy vegan sausage patty that was excellent. The smoothie I ordered was also wonderful. I returned for breakfast on Sunday and enjoyed the Tofu Benedict with fried potatoes and beautiful chai tea. I was pleased to learn that ALL the baked goods at the bakery counter were vegan and I picked some up on my way out to bring home with me. Highly Recommended!

Can't wait to come back! - Edit
I love this place. After a month on the road eating [censored] veg food the night we got to Jackson I told my partner I needed VEGETABLES. Happy Cow lead us here and oh yes, I got vegetables! The Bombay bowl was exactly what I needed, a healthy dose of well cooked vegetables on quinoa, with a coconut curry sauce to die for. I was happy. My meat-eating partner wasn't pleased with the gluten-free bun that came with his burger, and I'm not a fan of being forced to get gluten free either, so I could relate. But for me, this place was perfect! I tried to come by two nights later to try the vegan lasagna. But after watching my partner eat at a BBQ joint, by the time we arrived to Lotus (Wed 9pm), they'd just closed the kitchen. Welp. The space is super cool, all their deserts and vegan, their cocktails are great. I loved it. 5 stars

Oasis in Cattle Country - Edit
After vegan campfire food for a a week, we decided to catch a late lunch, after riding bikes on one of the most beautiful bike paths in America. The Bombay Bowl was the perfect blend of raw and cooked. I wanted The Green Bowl too, but knew I would never be able to ride my bike back to the car. There were plenty of options for the meat loving cowboys in your life. We tried an interesting vegan mocha with cloves, cinnamon and something hot (cayenne?) Mmmmm

Amazing vegan options - Edit
About half of their menu was either vegan or could be made so, and was clearly labeled. I got the pad thai, which was amazing and pretty simple (just veggies and noodles) and the sauce was divine! My brother, a meat eater, got the same thing and was happy. The staff was friendly and the restaurant had a very good vibe.

New Location - Edit
As a vegan living 2 hours south of Jackson Hole in cattle country, coming to Lotus Cafe is like going to Mecca for me. I had a huge shock when I drove up there for doctors appointments last month and their restaurant was empty. I was so disappointed and Depressed (capital D intentional). I went to another restaurant listed here on Happy Cow, but the vegan options were really non-existent. Since I'm going up there again today, I decided to try and find out what happened to my beloved Lotus Cafe, only to discover they had moved locations! Wew! What a relief!
Read moreAs for the food, I really enjoy it. Some of my favorites are the Tofu Benedict and the tempeh reuben. The raw salads are also good. And all the desserts are vegan! :)

Cons: I wish the Tofu Benedict was available all day

I'd give this place 5 stars if it would let me. The menu labels what is or can be vegan and almost everything is! Very beautiful inside and very friendly servers. The cost was also pretty reasonable. Highly recommend!

Clear Vegan Options - Edit
The menu is clear about what items are vegan, and there is also a desert/ bakery case that has some vegan options. I was disappointed with the food though. I ordered a vegetable curry, and the flavor was very blah, and it was expensive, I think around $15 for a bowl of vegetables. Unfortunately your choices are extremely limited in this town for vegan options. My 3 star rating is due to the location, in LA I'd give this place 1 star.

Awesome vegan choices - Edit
We were in Jackson for one night only, as we were flying back to Scotland the following morning after 4 weeks of road tripping. We had been mostly cooking our own food as we had been travelling in non vegan friendly places. We were so glad to find this place and have a proper meal. For a non vegan only restaurant I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of vegan options on the menu. Most things are either vegan or can be made vegan, and I think all the desserts were vegan. There was so much choice it was had for me to use. I had a lasagne and my husband had a noodle dish. We were both very happy with our meals. I also had the cheesecake for dessert which was amazing!

Happy for trying, but... - Edit
I heard about this place from my employer. I was very happy, because Wyoming is not veg-friendly state. I was not there, but my friends brought me a meal - falafel with french fries. The meal costed 15 $, so you would expect to be really good. It was NOT. The falafel just fell apart, what is unacceptable, it was very dry and not good at all. I was very disappointed. As much as I appreciate restaurants to have vegan options and be organic as well, I am not happy with this place and would not recommend it, at least try something else, because falafel was just awful. Please note that other food might be good.

40 minute wait for tofu breakfast tacos and tofu rancheros. We received egg tacos and egg rancheros. I hate throwing around the Vegan word but made sure to do it while ordering because I didn't want to get eggs. Nice try

Re-visited for breakfast - Edit
What a find in Jackson. Had no reservation so we had to come back 30 mins later. The place was packed with happy looking people and after our first bite we knew why. The food, the atmosphere, the juice, everything was good. They offer a fair choice of veggie and vegan dishes. Had a "green bowl" containing quinoa, spinach salad, avocado, pistachios and a tahini dressing and a vegan burger with truffle fries. Was so happy with my salad bowl, I didn't want to share with my partner... But the burger was excellent as well. As our motel did not serve breakfast we decided to come back for breakfast. They have a large offering with the choice to substitute meat for tofu or tempeh. We tried different pancakes (spelt and blue corn) and a frozen Acai-banana-goji berry-buckwheat granola bowl. That was a bit unusual for a breakfast dish but in the hot weather it was a light and refreshing alternative. We bought some baked doughnuts and cakes to take away and left as happy customers. If we are ever in Jackson again, we know where to go and eat!!

Can I please live at the Lotus Cafe - Edit
My (also vegan) husband and I were spending a day in Jackson on family vacation last week and our group included 2 vegans (us), 1 vegetarian, 1 omni who only eats chicken, 3 omnis who eat whatever and 1 who is quite passionate about the joys of meat eating. We looked briefly at the Lotus Cafe menu online and it sounded perfect for meeting all of our dietary needs.
Read moreWe got there and I was so stunned that they had an extensive breakfast menu that could almost all be made vegan, plus lunch sandwiches, salads, bowls, and a case full of vegan desserts.
My husband got the pesto sandwich which he said was amazing. I ended up getting the Imperial Bowl (which seemed kind of lame considering all the options but it sounded so good) and it was amazing. My man said I put my head down in the bowl and didn't come up until 20 minutes later. It was fantastic.
Our waiter was super nice without being over-bearing, and when he learned that we were from Indy, he reminded us to drink lots of water because of the elevation, which I thought was really kind of him.
I really wanted to just sit there all day and sample all the vegan foods.
My only complaint is that I ordered tofu added to my bowl, because were were hiking in the Tetons that day, and even though the waiter repeated it back to me when I said it, it wasn't included in the bowl.
I want to go back to Jackson just for Lotus Cafe!
Pros: so. many. options. , delicious food
Cons: Bison Burger on the Menu - oh the irony.

Yummy VEGAN food!!!! - Edit
While visiting Jackson Hole, Wyoming...I surely thought we would be "vegan food challenged"...but...we found the Lotus Cafe!!! We ate there every day! All the vegan dishes we sampled were yummy. They have vegan pastries in the morning, but you have to get there early or they sell out. The service is hit-or-miss...sometimes you get great service & sometimes you don't. Can be loud if it is crowded & sometimes parking is an issue. It is a must for the weary vegan traveler.

Vegan in Wyoming - Edit
Was here in September 2013. I can't tell you how surprised I was to find a restaurant with so many vegan options in Wyoming! As I recall, there were a looot of them, and the condiments (sour cream, etc) were vegan only. I had vegan nachos, which were quite good. The waitress was also friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients.
