NOT VEGAN - Edit
This place has changed its name and is now just Lotus Corner. Not vegan at all. We choose this place because it was advertised vegan, but its not.

No vegan breakfast - Edit
They sent me off to a cafe to have breakfast there (which they pay for) and it was regular non-vegan breakfast. The vegan breakfast was the only reason I went there. Rooms are fine.

Podría mejorar - Edit
Los demás platos no sé, pero yo pedí una ensalada Budda bowl. No era para nada como en la foto, no estaba mala pero me la trajeron caliente. No era lo que esperaba. El zumo no estaba mal

Money grab by non vegans - Edit
Seems like a total fake money grab run by non vegans. They have laminated adverts for meals with pig and fish.
Read moreThe breakfast is less than you get at other hotels, fruit or toast with jam, or sticky rice, not really a good breakfast meal tbh.
Rooms dark and small and not very clean. The AC made extremely loud banging noises all throughout the night.
Nothing special or vegan about this place.
Served me LactaSoy (not vegan, has 2% cows milk in) as the soy milk offered in the breakfast/cafe. I informed them it's not vegan and they asked me to check the almond breeze for them, and said they'd use that for breakfast, but I didn't see them remove the LactaSoy from the menu or replace it with a new soya milk, so I believe they just continued serving other customers it...Definitely check/ask if you want soy milk!

Uhhh makes me wonder what type of milk is in the French toast and crepes as an example 😳

Yeah I saw other people with coffees that did NOT look like typical watery almond breeze, so they probably didn't even tell them..

Room for improvement but good location - Edit
Disappointed in the size of the food, we always had to order more or go out for more we were always still hungry. Basic breakfast included, fancier breakfast costed additional but both were still small portions.
Read moreThe rooms aren’t very clean. I found a large toe nail clipping and some hair on the floor when we first arrived and asked that they did come in to sweep again (which they did) but the rooms weren’t cleaned again for the next five nights we stayed.
Rooms themselves are smaller and darker than i was expecting. They charge a larger premium when booking tours, tickets etc than I think is fair.
This is the second time I’ve stayed in newly opened vegan guesthouse in Asia over the past few months (i was also in one in Cambodia) and Lotus doesn’t come out very favourably other than location wise. They could put a little more effort in and be a little more generous with portions, and taking a cut when booking onward tours.

Quiet, nice are - food is ok - Edit
We had the tofu laab and vegetable curry. Maybe I just don’t love laab, having tried it half a dozen times on this trip and been whelmed each time. Curry was alright but nothing amazing.

Simple the most friendly and helpful place - Edit
The team serve amazing food, you have to try the vegan shake.
Read moreBut what makes this place stand out is the service.
They organised last minute tours for us, helped fixed my bike even though I was staying at a different hotel and gave us amazing customer service on all our food.
Pros: Vegan shake , Scrambled Tofu breakfast , Customer service

Very nice scrambled tofu - Edit
It was a bit confusing for me if I could here as a non-guest, because there was no one and there’s not a lot of place to sit, but they still nicely served me. The chef made fresh scrambled tofu with bread. It was really tasteful!

Room for improvement - Edit
The B&B has only recently opened. Veganism seems like a fairly new concept to Laos. There is a few things confusing about this place but once things get ironed out, it looks really promising. Our room, the TV & mini fridge didn't work. The air-conditioning worked a little too well, spitting chips of ice everywhere. Bed wasn't comfy. There didn't appear to be house keeping except for the 2nd last day when the bins were emptied. No filter water was given after the first day.
Read moreFor breakfast there is a free menu for B&B guests - fruit salad or toast with Lao jam with tea/coffee with soy/almond milk. There is also a paid menu for guests and for non-guests. These menus have different items on them. We ordered the scrambled tofu one day, but it was just small pieces of tofu fried with vegetables.
The host and manager are very attentive , each day recommending somewhere new to visit. Even though you told the manager you were vegan, he would still make suggestions like the Buffalo Dairy for ice cream.
This B&B is in an ideal location to explore Luang Prabang, the monks pass each morning to collect alms which is really special to see. You can cruise on the unspoilt Mekong River and many restaurants in town have vegan options.

Perfect Omelett - Edit
The room was fine. The included breakfast is not really something special. But there is also the possibility to choose from another menu for an extra $1. Since we are more for hearty breakfasts, we shared a vegan omelet every morning for two in addition to the included breakfast. However, you have to pay for it yourself, for us it was definitely worth it.
