The hardest place to find

This restaurant was nearly impossible to find. It sits in a small building in the midst of high rise apartment buildings, so street names and numbers are not of much help here. We biked around forever, and eventually had to call them to get a better description of where they might be. So it wasn't really surprising that when we got there, the place was quite empty. It was also very quiet. I found this to be a welcome respite from the activity of Mitte, but my partner found it awkward. However, the restaurant is part of a meditation center, so the remote location and quiet atmosphere make sense to me.

The menu is only a couple of dishes, but I enjoyed all the food extremely. The pumpkin soup and the entree (salad, side, and protein on a plate) were both well balanced, healthy, and delicious. The portions are very generous - you can easily have the soup as your dinner. The tea was also very nice.

Not everything on the menu is vegan, and the employees seemed to be confused on what contained dairy. That just seems funny when you have only 3 dishes.
Nevertheless, I think the service was very nice and friendly. Actually, I felt bad for the man and young girl who served the food, because I saw the woman who cooks the food yelling at them in front of us. It might be a family thing, but this seemed a bit out of place in a meditation center.

Since I already know where it is, I would come here again for a healthy dinner if I was near Alexanderplatz.

Pros: Delicious and healthy food, Peaceful atmosphere

Cons: Hard to find, Staff not clear on what is vegan

Closed on SATURDAY

Very dissapointed. Found it with great difficulty squashed amongst high rise blocks of flats. Paid a lot for parking then found it shut on a SATURDAY...obviously not catering for tourists.

Hi Sarah,

If I may politely enquire, is it honestly to mark down a place just because they open the hours they want rather than what you want? Maybe on Saturday the manager has to do child care or something? If its mission critical for a place to be open before visiting, its possible to get opening hours from the internet or from ringing ahead?

Very best wishes of course in your future endeavours to track down veg eats.

Regards,
Stevie

Simple menu, fine dishes

With two different dishes and a soup each day, it is easy to make a choice. There's also a few different cakes and dessert and tea house / coffee shop drinks, so it's also nice to just hang out and enjoy life.

I had a risotto which included some salad and was very delicious.

Note that the two main dishes are only served until 7pm during the week. The last hour is just soup, drinks, and desserts.

People interested in Buddhism should definitely check this out, since it's integrated into a really nice meditation center. If you're not into Buddhism, you'll probably still like the relaxed atmosphere. This place is really quiet, because it's right in the middle of a residential block, shielded from busy streets by some high-rise apartment buildings.

To get there from U-Bahn Schillingstrasse, walk past the Moskow restaurant and the bike shop, then take the small path left of the bike shop and walk straight on the "private" foot path between the apartment blocks. It's also just a short walk from S-Bahn/U-Bahn Jannowitzbrücke and a longer walk from Alexanderplatz area (if you can find the way ;).

Pros: food, atmosphere, quiet

Cons: hard to find
