Serves meat, vegan options available. Small family-run restaurant in the heart of Bangkok's 'backpacker ghetto.' Has a significant vegetarian menu, and the owner & chef understands the concepts of vegetarian and vegan. No MSG nor animal oil used. Price are 45-60 baht per dish. Address in local language: 227 ถนนรามบุตรี แขวงตลาดยอด.

cheap for the area - Edit

lots of choices for veggie eaters and they understand the difference with vegan. however went on two occasions ordering the same soup, the first time it came with noodles, tofu and loads of veg and the second time it was just noodles, bit disappointing, maybe different because it was a different lady working. around 50-80b for meals which in the area is quite cheap.

Pros: tasty food, cheap, options

Cons: not always consistent l, expensive for Thailand

Not Bad - Edit

Nice and cheap given the location. Pad Thai had no peanut sauce but was tasty never the less. Slight confusion with the cashew nut stir fry; a pork version was brought to the table. Explained that we'd ordered veggie and it was promptly replaced, no problem.. However a piece of stray pork had found it's way into the veggie replacement dish. Some may find this more of a problem than others. On this occasion I just put the offending article to one side and enjoyed an otherwise rather good stir fry (with a bowl of rice for an additional 10 baht!)

Pros: Location, Tasty, Cheap

Cons: Stray Meat

Absolutely scrumptious! - Edit

As a devout vegan, I prefer to support vegetarian restaurants. And there are at least half a dozen purely vego eateries around Banglamphu. HOWEVER...having tried all of the vegetarian (and most veg-friendly) diners in Banglamphu, my personal verdict is that Lotash Seed makes the best vegan 'tom yam' and 'tom kha' this side of the Chao Phraya River. It's a pity they're not completely veg, but the owner/operator/chef understands the concepts of veg*n and is simply an *excellent* cook. While she uses Thai herbs and spices in a delicious and tantalising way, however, if you want Thai-style spicy you'll have to ask for 'pet pet' - the restaurant is, after all, in Thanon Rambuttri.

Pros: EXCELLENT food, decent prices, central location

Cons: not 100% veg
