World class - Edit
This restaurant was literally a Michelin star experience, from the moment we were seated to being introduced to the menu and philosophy, the drinks, the food and service were second to none. I will be dreaming of this meal for the rest of my life!

Save all your dinners for Los Loosers! - Edit
Los Loosers was one of my favorite places in CDMX on this trip. The staff are friendly and speak English. The menu doesn't include a ton of description -- just the name of the item so you have to ask the server for details about the dish (it would be great if they would add a description for the ramen dishes, for example).
Read moreThe meals I had at Los Loosers were delicious - a bit pricy by CDMX standards but compared to what I would pay back home? Amazing bargains for delicious, quality food. On Christmas Eve, I had ramen noodles with mushroom gravy and a dollop of mashed potatoes -- it was way better than I expected! The other ramen dish I tried was the one that they claimed was the spiciest (it wasn't really spicy, IMO) and it was very delicious with a great balance of flavors. The tempura avocado croquettes are also delicious!

To be fair, I went here knowing that I'm not a big fan of mushrooms generally and that mushrooms are a big part of the menu, so it's not a surprise that I ended up only feeling okay about the food. I will say this: portions are HUGE! I thought I was being smart by getting 3 appetizers and 1 tamale so that I can try a bunch of small items, but they turned out much bigger than anticipated and I couldn't eat it all. Some appetizers are big enough for a meal! My favorite item by far was the cheese empanada... such creamy, delicious filling! I found the other 3 items only okay: tamalito, gringo, and some kind of bean and mushroom filled corn appetizer.

Después de muchas visitas que nos habían dejado muy satisfechos ayer tuvimos una experiencia muy desagradable en la asignación de la mesa ya que no tienen un orden y van pasando a la gente como se les antoja, eso paso ayer en que una pareja insistía en que se le atendiera de inmediato y la pasaron antes que los que habíamos llegado previamente. Al final tuvimos que discutir con las personas a las que cedieron la mesa pues los meseros no quisieron intervenir en corregir la situación, ellos aceptaron levantarse pero era tarde, quien quiere comer en un sitio donde no es bienvenido. Lastima del servicio que no entiende que la experiencia principia con ellos, no volveremos

We had an appetizer and one tacos each. The food was good, but a bit overly rich (fatty). Nowhere to be seen on the menu were the ramen or tofu skewers mentioned by other reviewers. The menu consisted of several appetizers, several tacos, a soup special offered verbally, two desserts and drinks. The black mole was tasty. The mocktails we wanted were not available that night. Pleasant, but not exactly the best vegan food ever. Perhaps ownership has changed?

I didnt realize how small my mushroom world was until eating here. The wide variety used and innovative flavorings blew my mind. The portions are just right so you can try several things and not feel too full afterward. We ordered an appetizer, 2 tacos, a puffed tortilla taco, and the dessert. So many wonderful taste and texture sensations!

I've spent a decent chunk of time in CDMX, but I always put off visiting Los Loosers. The prices are admittedly pretty damn high (€16 for a bowl of ramen!), and with so much excellent vegan food to be had reasonably cheap throughout the city, it just wasn't a priority for me. Well, my friends picked it and I wasn't gonna say no, so I decided to just go enjoy and splurge.
Read moreBetween the three of us, we ordered three appetizers, three ramens, two mains, and a drink each. Total damage came to around €115, but it was worth it. Excellent mushroom-forward food full of flavor, fried tofu skewers with just the right amount of crunchy outside soaked in a sauce overflowing with flavor, ramens full of fresh ingredients with savory and creamy broths, unique uses of corn and other Mexican ingredients, and top-class service and presentation.
This is exactly what upscale casual is supposed to be: dining that's definitely an experience and feels a little special without being stuffy or pretentious, and food that fits that theme. Unique, flavorful Mexican-Asian fusion that still manages to be extremely approachable and easy to enjoy.

Wow. This was one of the best meals I had during my 18 days of travel around Mexico. Absolutely everything was delicious, beautiful, and inventive. Cute atmosphere. And the service was some of the best service I've experienced. Our food came out super fast. You must try this place! I don't know why anyone would give this place fewer than 5 stars. Truly wonderful. And crazy affordable for the quality of food. Just over $1000 pesos / $50 usd for 3 apps, 2 mains, 4 tacos, and 1 dessert!

Unknowingly, we saved the best meal for last. Los Looser was a superb vegan Mexican Asian fusion restaurant that specializes in fungi. Incredible flavors that I’d never tasted before. the menu online wasn’t accurate, just FYI. I didn’t take a pic of the correct menu so I can’t quite remember (these are crappy photos cuz we sat outside.) we got a 3 appetizer & an entree & it was enough for 2 people. fungi cucumber salad, corn fungi dumplings, Gorditos stuffed with fungi, citrus & a spicy sauce, & an absolutely excellent tofu skewer (it was crispy & “fatty” with a citrus teriyaki type sauce). All for only $25 US 😳 highly highly recommend.

Sé que la mayor parte de personas solo van a comer pero por experiencia personal les digo que tratan a su personal como basura, los explotan y no les pagan bien.
