Many options for vegetarians and vegans. Food was fresh, serving size great and food delicious. Live music and lovely owners made it an all round good option.

Almost everything could be made vegan - burrito, chimichanga, enchiladas, nachos, fajitas, Mexican pizza, quesadillas, tacos, chilaquiles, and a vegan churro.
Read moreThey first told us they couldn't do the Mexican pizza or quesadillas bc the vegan cheese (more of a cheese sauce) wouldn't make the tortillas stick, but they were actually able to do it with tofu.

So many options! They have vegan cheese if you’d like. My partner ordered the vegetarian nachos & quesadilla which can both be made vegan. They are financially as well accessible and serve large portions.

Los Gatos Locos can make pretty much anything on their menu vegan, and it's all spectacular! All of their recipes, from their hand-made tortillas to their hours-long enchilada sauce process start with a vegan base, and their delicious vegan cheese is made from scratch from local vegetables. You can get chilequilas, chimichangas, nachos, fajitas, even quesadillas. It's f***ing amazing!
Read moreAlso, it's a treehouse bar surrounded by honest-to-god rainforest in a small Costa Rican village. Easy to get to from Uvita and Dominical, and with an ultra-cool yoga resort next door.
Happy Cow won't let me give them five stars because they're not an all-veggie restaurant, but it's the closest thing you can find that caters to non-vegans, too. Lots of gluten-free options, too, from what I'm told.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Delicious hand-made, local-veggie vegan cheese, Amazing atmosphere.
