Not as Amazing as expected but still great - Edit
This is a friendly, super clean, well-serviced restaurant with a nice interior. The staff seem to be so serious about serving customers well, it felt a bit too much for us coming from areas with more laid back restaurants. The staff clearly can't help it. They don't speck English very well, but communicate and care enough through actions.
We visited twice as the location and hours are optimal. We had the Ramen, ginger steak, chicken teriyaki burger, and ginger steak burger. The burgers seem like a better deal, we are not experts in them, but they were good enough. I enjoyed the ramen, but felt it could be a bit more salty (my partner accuses me of being a salt addict. I am a runner though). They are happy to let people share, and seem comfortable with letting the customer dictate what they want (versus some places that demand you must order a drink, or you can't share). I found it recommended, the reviews are a tad superfluous and while praise is well-merited, we weren't blown away as some reviews led us to believe. Prices are quite reasonable. You will find it hard to find anything this place doesn't do well. Please enjoy!
Pros: very kind attentive staff, Good variety on menu

Love this place!!! - Edit
Had the best experience ever here. Such great omotenashi by the awesome owner. As a raw vegan, I've been living off of mikan (Japanese mandarin oranges) and combini salads here in Japan. I was so surprised to find this place right outside my airbnb (the apartments next door!). I talked with the owner (I can speak Japanese) and found out we have so much in common! The owner and the staff are the friendliest, warmest people ever! They accommodated my raw vegan diet and served me a beautiful, fresh, organic salad with raw tomato soup. I also ordered a special Christmas raw vegan desert made with special Kanazawa strawberries which was absolutely divine! The owner even lent me some extra umbrellas for my family to use and offered to hold our luggage for a few hours after we check out of our airbnb and explore Kanazawa tomorrow. I'm definitely coming back for breakfast tomorrow morning! Thank you so much LA in Kanazawa for one of my loveliest experiences in Japan so far!

Exactly the kind of vegan business that deserves your support - Edit
The owner of this little restaurant is a fantastically friendly guy doing a great job with this place.
The food was great, as many others have mentioned, but I also thought this was pretty good value too. If you head there for lunch, you can get yourself a couple of courses of food, a HUGE salad and a delicious dessert. Oh, and great imported Intelligentsia coffee to top it off. All for less than JPY2000 per person.
Anyone who thinks that's pricey should check out how expensive it is to buy good quality vegetables in a Japanese supermarket.
In all, just a great place and I can't speak highly enough of the people behind it. Definitely one of my favourite places in Kanazawa!

Vegan delight - Edit
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Ordered the teriyaki chicken set and tempura burger set. Both were absolutely delicious and I love how each course was served separately. Salad was big and hearty. Had the raw vegan cheesecake for dessert which was divine and a banana muffin. The owner is super friendly too! We had a good chat about vegan food/places in Japan and he told us about his twin brother who runs a vegan restaurant in LA. He even gave us a free bag of rusk cookies to have for breakfast the next day. Will definitely be returning at least one more time before we leave Kanazawa.
Pros: lots of options , has vegan desserts

Good Vegan Option in Kanazawa - Edit
They mostly have burgers and salad sets. The food is alright for the price, but the muffins are definitely worth a try.
They're also trying to open up at night more often, so check out their Facebook page for updates.

Delicious Food, Friendly People - Edit
Stopped by here after finding it on Happycow. We had the Teriyaki burger and Pita sandwich combo both very delicious! Also got the chance to try the chocolate chip, banana, and lemon muffins, the chocolate chip was the best. We had a nice chat with the owner who was super friendly, he let us know his brother also has a vegan restaurant in LA, which we are definitely going to try when in that area. He also gave us a free muffin! Would recommend this place to anyone.
Pros: Friendly, Delicious, Cute Place
Cons: None

Excellent salad, weird atmosphere - Edit
I was very excited about this place given the good reviews but it was overall a letdown, especially given the price, which is on the higher end for a set lunch (even a vegetarian one) in Japan.
We both ordered burger sets so I had the chance to taste the ginger burger and the teriyaki one. The ginger burger didn't really taste like ginger, but it was overall a decent burger. The teriyaki chickn burger had a very weird texture, it was quite hard to chew, I literally felt like I was about to choke several times. It was also overall kinda bland. I also had a nut muffin that was also bland. It definitely lacked some vanilla essence or another flavouring ingredient.
Also, the service felt very rushed, even tough the restaurant wasn't full.
The good thing about this place though, is the salad, which is excellent. It is also quite big, which may explain the price of the set lunch.
Pros: Excellent salad
Cons: bit expensive

Worth setting your radar on - Edit
We visited for lunch and we're very happy with what we ordered. There were some standard, as well as original and interesting options on the menu. Delicious, healthy and some dessert options as well. Mickey (excuse spelling), the owner, was an exceptionally friendly man who was keen to ensure we enjoyed our food. If your near the gardens you are not far away from some delicious vegan food
Pros: Priving is reasonable

Amazing food, gluten-free friendly - Edit
If you're in Kanazawa you are probably there to see the gardens. Just north of the park, a few seconds away from one of the entrances, is this little gem.
The food is all macrobiotic, vegetarian and several options are gluten-free as well. We had the teriyaki "chicken" on rice which tasted great. It came with one of the best salads we've ever had. The coffee was good as well, though it says more about how bad most of the coffee in Japan is. My partner had vanilla chai tea and it was amazing. Their cupcakes are gluten-free too! Wish we could return more often.
Pros: gluten-free friendly, great location, very flavourful food

The veggie option was out and no cakes just tiny muffins so I only got to taste the great coffee served by friendly and helpful staff.

Great food but serves dairy milk - Edit
A small, well put-together restaurant by Kanazawa castle, serving a variety of vegan lunchtime sets. The soup was great; the ginger burger pretty good, though the flavour of the ginger dominated the rest a little too much for my taste.
Very good coffee and - a real treat - vegan muffins! Beetroot and green tea flavour, both worth a go.
One major drawback was that they served dairy milk in the coffee; so suddenly one is unsure whether the mayo is egg-free etc.

Pros: Good food, Muffins, Welcoming decor
Cons: Serves dairy milk

Oishii! - Edit
Fresh, delicious salad and pita bread set- and a fabulous iced coffee. Five minute walk from the Kenrokuen Garden. Lovely owners, helped us out with the logistics of getting around Kanazawa and gave us a delicious fresh fig treat as a present. Food was excellent and I highly, highly recommend it.

Excellent burger, near Kanazawa castle - Edit
Ordered the ginger steak burger which was amazing. Good menu options, with lots of healthy salads to choose from. The burger came with salad which had a very nice dressing - flavour I've never had before. Boyfriend is a meat eater, and even he enjoyed the meal! Staff extremely friendly and took the time to speak to us and chat about the area and where we're from etc. Also gave us a lovely fresh fruit dessert. Nice cafe environment and even the bathroom made me smile. Very much recommend - you won't be disappointed!
Pros: excellent fresh food, unique flavours, friendly staff
Cons: could have more substitute gluten and soy options

Gem in Kanazawa - Edit
Being a vegetarian/vegan is not easy in Japan, this new place (opened in 2014) made our day so much better. We ate here with our 1 year old. I had the ginger burger, it was really great. The salad that came with it was a joy to the eye.
Pros: Friendly staff, Vegan in Japan

We found this place thanks to the lovely lady in the Kanazawa tourism information. It's near the Kanazawa Castle and Omicho Market. The menu has vegan salads, burguers, cakes, lattes, etc. Healthy food.
