Creative chef will make vegan options in small village with few - Edit
This waterfront open-air restaurant with a terrace half-covered and half-open to the stunning blue sky is a great place to dine, especially during the sunset hour. Host/co-owner Lora is very willing to be creative with whatever is in the kitchen to make something vegan. The Sopa Azteca (Aztec Soup) can be made vegan upon request and is a very hearty soup, well worth the trip by itself. A smart move if you are coming from Puerto Vallarta in the north, or Manzanillo in the south, is to buy vegan cheese at the big supermarket chain LaComer or at some of the small health food stores you can find here on Happy Cow. Lora will then make the vegetarian enchiladas and/or flautas with vegan cheese instead of dairy cheese. Her sauces are great, all local natural ingredients. Both co-owners speak English. The margarita is good and bastante fuerte. Best to walk by earlier in the day and tell Lora you are coming later on and are vegan, to give her time to plan something special. Because she is a creative cook, she likes the opportunity.
