Beautiful garden with views to the canal. I had a vegan doughnut, maple glazed, which was very nice!
Read moreThe texture of the doughnut was a bit different to what I am used to. It was not so fluffy, but quite hydrated and nice. Guess that’s the more like the American way?
Chai latte is not vegan as the powder contains dairy.

Great coffee, but beware the Chai - Edit
Disappointed to learn the chai here now has dehydrated milk in the formula. Otherwise, great coffee with lots of plant milk options, and a couple pastry options. Great setting! #Veganuary

Great Coffee and vegan pastries - Edit
While visiting Bend, I tried 5 of the many coffee places in town. Looney Bean was 1 of 2 that offered vegan pastries ( strictly organic, which i also reviewed , was the other one). The order person waxed enthusiastic about the vegan pastries, and apologized for the lack of vegan spread for the tasty seeded bagel. I was delighted with the blueberry banana bread, and later with a rich chocolate cookie the size of a small plate. The coffee, roasted on site, was excellent. In mild weather the back of the cafe opens onto a grassy area with tables facing the river nearby. There is also a parking lot along the side of the cafe.
