Cactus Tacos and more! - Edit
Very friendly staff and laid back atmosphere. There are a decent amount of vegan options on the clearly marked menu and more that can be made vegan on request.

Amazing cauliflower tacos - Edit
Great cocktails and live music. Good number of veggie options - the deep fried cauliflower tacos with peanut sauce are stunning! We went back the next day for more tacos.

Good Vegan choices - Edit
We went there 2 x for breakfast while we visited Isla. First time was really good and super filling. We had the breakfast hash and the vegan burrito. There is a TON of tofu in both of these and a bit of vegan sausage, plus beans, sauce etc. We were filled up until late afternoon. Presentation was really good. I also had a green juice which was delicious. On our second visit, I asked for the Avocado toast to come without the eggs and hollandaise (who puts that on avocado toast) and they said no. I asked why and the waiter did not like that. Pretty simple. They eventually did bring it, but it was super plain (toast with slices of avocado) with no price reduction (even though I asked). We ordered a fruit plate too and it was beautiful and delicious. It is not an inexpensive place either. They get a 4 rating for food and presentation and a 3 for the pushback about adapting something simple.
Read more** the presentation was better than in my pics…we took a few bites before I took pics!

Delicious and filling - Edit
Went here for lunch with one other vegan and a non-vegan. Everyone was happy.
Read moreWe had the Caribbean tostones as an appetizer. The plantain patties were thick and hearty, and the toppings tasted fresh and flavourful.
I had cauliflower tacos. The pieces of cauliflower were huge, and I could only eat two of the three. Flavours were great. The other vegan had the vegan burger. It doesn’t say on the menu, but the “bun” is portobello mushroom caps. Not as exciting for her, as she doesn’t like mushrooms, and it stayed very hot for a long time, so it was hard to pick up. The burger patty was tasty and different than what you get at many places. I was surprised to see reviews calling the food light and not filling, because we were stuffed!
Menus say no credit cards, but they do accept them, for a fee. They accept US$ at a 16:1 exchange rate. Not ideal, but if you’re in another country, you shouldn’t expect special treatment for not having exchanged your money. 🤷🏼♀️
This was also the only restaurant we passed that didn’t have someone out front aggressively trying to get us to eat there, so bonus points for that.

Good food, fun vibe, bring cash… - Edit
(Make sure to read till end re: credit card experience)
Read moreLoved their starting chips and sauces. The chips are textured in a way that is not common. Delicious.
They don’t have mocktails but the drinks can be made with no alcohol and less sugar if you ask. I got a virgin Jamaica and Rosemary drink.
I think the menu is well marked. I got the cactus tacos. Amazing. You can also ask for modifications to make the salads veg or vegan.
I liked the look of the restaurant. It had good energy when we walked in. Live music about 1/4 way through our meal. My hubby had a bad experience with their cold slaw which he think had turned. He didn’t say anything so they were not able to make it right. We also had a weird experience checking out of the meal which my hubby did not like.
They seemed to be discouraging credit card usage as they told us at the end of the meal there would be an extra 5% added on for using a card. The card didn’t work. Tried mine. Mine wouldn’t work so we paid cash… went to a store after this experience and our cards worked fine… just beware?

Fast food and pricey - Edit
The staff are kind and the restaurant is in a great location in town. The cauliflower bites are very battered and give off a fast food taste with lack of flavor/effort. This place is entirely cash payment and if you give them US dollars they will not give you US dollars back. They have a poor exchange rate at 16:1 to make money off you unless you have Mexican dollars. There are way better places to try while in isla mujeres

Great cauliflower tacos - Edit
They have clearly marked vegan options here for several items. There’s also a few vegetarian options. The service was pretty slow, even though there were just a few people there.
Read moreWe tried the plantain dish and the cactus & cauliflower tacos. The plantain dish was not bad but could have used more avocado. The cactus taco was a bit bland but the cauliflower taco was amazing. I had to double check to make sure it wasn’t a fish taco it was so similar. Also, if you like spicy food, ask for their hot sauces–they’re unique & delicious.
This place is a good option if you happen to be in the area.
Pros: Clearly marked options, Cauliflower tacos
Cons: Expensive like most places here

Prices are reasonable, especially because you get some tortilla chips with 4 classes of sauces (including some spicy ones, like the famous 'habanero').

Good pricey food - Edit
The tacos with cauliflower came with guacamole and another sauce. There were delicious but expensive in my opinion. The three tacos weren’t that much. But still a good place to eat! 🌮 no problems or explaining veganism or something. The vegan options were well marked on the menu. 🌱

Not bad - Edit
They had a few vegan options. I got the Verde bowl and it was tasty. The portions were big. My family ordered the fry fish and they enjoyed it l, so we both got to enjoy a decent meal. It was hard to get vegan protein at the resort we so it was nice to eat somewhere that offered tofu.

Best vegan option for dinner - Edit
Nice restaurant in the high street. They offer 3
Read more2 vegan starters and 8 vegan main courses (including burger, salad, curry, tacos, bowls). Additionally several vegetarian options.
The starter (Caribbean tostones) was pretty good, the burger was not my taste.
My friend had the mac&cheese (kids menu, vegetarian) and mexican fondue (starter, vegetarian). Both tasted good.
They brought us the main courses, while we were eating the starter. So we had to hurry.
As there aren't much vegan possibilities on Isla Mujeres this restaurant is a good option.
Reservation is recommended.
Pros: Several vegan and vegetarian options, Nice staff, Price okay for Isla Mujeres
Cons: Burger wasn't my taste, Bad timing with the main course
