Vegan breakfast

They have gf pancakes that are vegan, and a vegan hash with breakfast potatoes and grits. This is served all day, so I ended up eating breakfast for dinner a few Fridays ago. Cute place with cool antique display items.

Just no...

Vegan vanilla was sour...not really sure what they are using in their recipe, but I have had many vegan vanilla ice creams-but this didn't taste like ice cream, it tasted like bad frozen sour cream, mine with marshmallow and no vanilla flavor.
1 star for nothin'

Ice cream

While I really appreciate the effort in having vegan ice cream and options… it might be better to have no options than to have bad options.. the flavor of the ice cream to be simultaneously far too sweet and slightly sour. The texture was good while frozen but when it began to melt it was more gloopy. I wouldn’t recommend the ice cream. The vegan ganache was good but that’s about it

Best Vegan Ice Cream!

I got a scoop of vegan vanilla with vegan ganache and it was RICH! So delicious! One scoop in a cup was just the perfect amount. Don’t miss it!

Limited, but good options.

There were two vegan options. I chose the vanilla ice cream with chocolate ganache* on top. The ice cream was well done and had a light and fluffy with a slightly marshmallow-like consistency -not icy or watery like vegan versions often found elsewhere. I also ordered what I expected to be a glass of wine, but ended up getting a whole bottle (it’s the only way they serve wine).

The staff was friendly and meant well, but they had trouble keeping up with orders despite only having a few customers in line. After getting my ice cream and wine, I had to ask for a cup and a corkscrew.

If you’re expecting an authentic looking recreation of the type of vintage soda fountain/ice cream parlor your great grandparents enjoyed, this ain’t it. The decor is festive and peppered with humorous messages from a mascot, but it’s also cheap and tacky. The tables are surrounded by shelves of toys and novelty merchandise.

*It’s just chocolate syrup that becomes a semi rigid shell.

Yum

Love the vanilla flavor with vegan ganache and whip. From my understanding they make their vegan ice cream in house.

Pros: Local, Retro feel, Fun outing

Cons: Limited flavor options

Inedible Vegan Ice Cream

We chose this ice cream parlor due to having advertised vegan ice cream. I like supporting local establishments and never leave negative reviews, but feel compelled to warn the vegan community. The vegan ice cream here is not edible. First two flavors had frozen ice in them. The manager kindly replaced one cup and the unopened chocolate was also not edible. Tastes like a science experiment, such as a marshmallow cream concoction placed in the freezer. Unsure who is supplying theirs but it’s the worst I’ve ever had. I wish them well, and urge management to use another supplier. Buying any vegan flavor at the grocery store would be better and much cheaper.

Pros: Local, Family-friendly

Cons: Unfriendly employees , Vegan options , No water fountain at an ice cream shop

Great Vegan Ice Cream!

They change up their vegan flavors everyday, so if you have a favorite, be sure to look on their website before you go. I tried the vegan blueberry cheesecake "ice cream" the other day, and it was amazing! It had a great creamy texture. The man at the counter didn't understand that I wanted the vegan at first, but was extremely nice when I corrected him, and got a new bowl and everything to get me the right kind. Every time I've been here, the employees have been super nice and accommodating.

Pros: New flavors, Nice staff, Multiple vegan options

Gross! STAY AWAY!

I took my two daughters (both vegan) to this dump! The place itself has a retro 50's style. My older daughter is a student at FSU and her vegan friends like this place. We asked which ice cream was vegan. They had only two flavones. I ordered the pistachio almond ice cream. My one daughter ordered their mango sorbet (they had several flavors). They went to the back room to get our favors. He handed me some gross looking green thing. The mango sorbet was mediocre, but mine was the worste piece [censored] I have ever put in my mouth. It had freezer burn and a perfume after taste. My other daughter saw our ice cream and decided not to order anything. Wise choice! I am sure their dairy ice cream is better. I think they are looking to get rid of their vegan stuff. I would give it zero cow ratings if I could! STAY FAR AWAY!

Pros: NOTHING

Cons: Paid too much for freezer burn, Poor quality, gross, Poor selection

Not Worth The Time!!!!!

I'm a vegan so on a recent visit to Tallahassee, I visited the much talked about LP. I was very, very disappointed! Coming from Atlanta, I'm used to having delicious, flavorful vegan ice cream. This ice cream did not meet even my minimum expectations for flavor or consistency. The cinnamon ice cream had way too much cinnamon which over powered the already bland taste. Likewise, the vanilla lacked the rich creamy texture of other vegan ice creams. The toppings did not help any. They were just as flavorless. On the Friday I went, they did not have bananas for a banana split or a to-go container to put it in. The girl that helped me was very nice. She offered to go to the store to get bananas but the shift supervisor told her it would take 20 minutes. Sooooooooo here's the scoop on my order: two vegan scoops w/4 vegan toppings- marshmallow, pineapple, wet walnuts and caramel; one kiddie scoop of lemon sorbet, one scoop of champagne sorbet. total $21.02. Not worth the money!!!!

This Place Makes Me Happy

I love that this locally owned shop always carries vegan ice cream. Try the chocolate vegan ice cream with peanuts on top - awesome. You can watch candy being made and the store is packed with fun games and toys for purchase.

Pros: Wonderful Place, Delicious

Great Vegan Icekream!

We jumped at the chance for a dairy-free milkshake (vegan icekream plus almond milk), and was richly rewarded! Staff was very vegan friendly and knowledgeable. The sweet kream and chocobanana flavors were delicious, but the best part was the vegan whipped cream on top, which was to die for!

Pros: friendly, tasty

Great for Kids of All Ages

Wonderful toy store and ice cream / soda fountain. Always a great variety of ice cream flavors, with at least one soy kreme and several sorbets to choose from. The vegan milkshakes are fantastic! Staff are always very knowledgeable and friendly.

Pros: Vegan options, Friendly Staff, You can do puzzles while you wait!
