Read moreThey have several locations. The one I visited is in the centre of Funchal, opposite the cable car. Service is ok.
They have several vegan options on the menu.
I had the tapioca crepe. Was filled with grilled vegetables. Tasted good.
And when I was almost finished, there was this dead cockroach in it…
The waiter went to talk to the chef. Came back, said sorry a couple of times and didn’t charge me for it.
I am trying not to think what might happen in their kitchen…

this is such a lovely little cafe with quite a few vegan options, including two smoothie bowls - perfect for the hot weather. they also have plant milks for coffees including oat, coconut, and soy. no vegan cakes unfortunately but that’s the only downside and there are enough options on the menu to make up for that. i had the banana and choc smoothie bowl with an oat latte and it was lovely!

On the menu vegan options are inconsistently labeled, with no legend, even the staff didn’t really know and improvised some explanation. We took the vegan (?) burger with fries, which usually is somewhat safe, but the patty was wildly undercooked and the fries oddly McDonald-like. Juices were good, kombucha horrible, like old and pasteurized. Overall a bad experience.

Our waiter was utterly uninformed about vegan options, but luckily got a colleague to help after some back and forth and him admitting that he actually doesn’t know much about the vegan options on the menu.
Read moreThe menu could need updating. They had a veggie burger section but only one had a leaf icon (which is nowhere explained whether it means vegan OR vegetarian). We inquired about this and were told both are vegan.
I had a kombucha and a burger. The kombucha was disgusting, tasted really old and bad (coming from a person who often drinks kombucha!), I asked to change it for a juice. They did and the juice was good but when I paid they charged for both drinks…
The burger was alright though nothing special, the fries were old and a bit dry though. Tasted surprisingly familiar to fries at McDonalds which I avoid at all cost.
In the end, eating here was just a continuation of disappointing vegan food on this island.

Read moreFirst impression was that menu is confusing as no indication what dishes are vegan (even though some indicate things like vegan cheese, vegan Mayo, etc).
Staff very friendly and can point out what is available, and are happy to adapt dishes (I swapped in Peanut butter for my pancakes).
I had a burger and Pancakes with a vanilla Iced Oat Latte- food was lovely and well priced! Service was slow so maybe avoid at peak times.

There is a lot of variety for vegan options here as well as non vegan. It is best to ask to confirm which is vegan but a lot say either oat or almond milk and thats how we knew. I tried the vegan pancakes (with banana, blueberry, compote and optional lemon sorbet) and was pleased with how they turned out. Nice looking and very tasty. Tasted very oaty and a little like porridge but nice and a nice change from some other vegan dishes.

We was there two times for breakfast. All other restaurants in the area are closed in early hours or serving already lunch menu.
Read moreWe tried Broadway toast and pancakes. There are also lunch/dinner options like veggie burger. Oat milk available for coffee.
Unfortunately the vegan options are not marked in the menu, but staff is helpful and speaks English.
