It’s as though the vegan option was purely out of obligation - Edit
I don’t usually use the word insipid to describe food, but it definitely qualifies here. The portobello burger was barely cooked, watery to the point it soaked the bun, and no marinade or other spices were used. Iceberg lettuce and an unripe tomato slide. Mediocre french fries. It’s almost as though they didn’t care about flavor, and were only including this out of a sense of obligation. I count this among the worst vegan food I’ve ever eaten, along with the Burger King “garden burger” I ate in 1998 that was just three pickles and ketchup on a bun. Freeport doesn’t have much for vegan food, but you’re better off driving to Brunswick or Portland than settling for a dish that this restaurant clearly didn’t want to make.
