Truly amazing gem of a place in Kuala Lumpur. Lovely staff and vibe. Amazing local and international food and great coffee. We had the pesto pasta (OMG so good), miso soup (yum), mango smoothie, ice soy coffee, charcoal waffle with black sesame ice cream. All amazingly delicious, made with love. I will be back! Warmly recommended.

Cosy Cafe with great & reasonably priced Vegan Food, Cakes & Coffee - Edit
LAST VISIT: October 2017
Read moreWhat I had: 3 in the afternoon (RM21 *extra RM 3 for soy milk), Mushroom Sourdough Pizza (RM25) with vegan cheddar, Waffle (RM18), Chocolate and Charcoal Black Sesame cake (RM15 per slice)
I really enjoyed all the food and beverages I had at LN Fortunate Coffee. The ‘3 in the afternoon’, like the menu suggests, gives you different tastes and experience at different temperatures. The pizza and waffle was very well made and substantial. I tried both their Chocolate and Charcoal Sesame Cake, and I absolutely LOVED the Charcoal sesame cake. First off, not only is it a struggle enough to find VEGAN cakes, when you do, it is either a raw vegan cake or something unimpressive yet overpriced. LN’s cakes are so amazing, that you won’t even think its vegan! It’s airy and structured sponge cake with lovely sesame/chocolate cream that isn’t too sweet, hands down the best vegan cake I’ve had in Malaysia! I also love that they offer the unique Black sesame flavour, which I highly recommend!
Overall, the food I tried (and what they offer) may seem like the usual Asian/Western vegetarian fare you find at any other vegetarian café. However, what sets LN Fortunate Coffee apart is the quality ingredients, freshness and execution of their delicious vegan fare.
The staff were warm and attentive. Chill and Zen ambience. Parking is pretty convenient being at the Solaris Mont Kiara shop area. I highly recommend LN Fortunate Coffee for good coffee, vegan cakes of your dreams and well-done vegan food at reasonable prices.

All Vegan Cafe with Great Setting - Edit
LN Fortunate was one of the first restaurants we visited when we moved to KL and we’ve been back many times. I LOVE the atmosphere, soft lights, modern decor and a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle on the street. Some dishes I really enjoy (there’s this big bowl of curry soup, maybe a version of Laksa, so good). Hands-down the best dessert is an orange-vanilla cake. If it’s available definitely get a slice. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. For some dishes I find the portions a little light (burgers, pizzas) and also because the food is served in a weird sequence, appetizers sometimes come at the end or you might get your dish twenty minutes later than someone else in your party (in fairness some dishes are noted as taking longer on the menu). However, overall, a solid cafe!

Very Good Food - Edit
I had the set lunch menu which I would recommend. Main and drink. I decided to choose the tofu cheese burger which came with chips and side salad. My burger was chunky and tasty. I also had an Americano which was great. Being as I was hungry myself and my partner shared the nuggets and a piece of chocolate cake which again I would recommend.

Like a Muji-shop...with coffee! - Edit
First of all, I like Muji. But yeah, they are definitely going for a theme through their music, decor and menu choices. It seems like a really chill place to relax with a drink and some light feeds. We were a bit hungrier and it was pricy to order really substantial dishes. We just about managed. The salad and sandwiches we ordered were excellent quality and were prepared well. I wish I had trusted them a bit more and next time, I will try the pizza for sure.

Cons: The prices are a bit off-putting, The "theme"/feel of the place is not for everyone, Portion sizes a bit small

Great Vegan Asian Food - Edit
Healthy, wholesome food. Owner is a passionate vegan so you can be sure everything is 100% vegan.
Read moreNice and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Food wise, I prefer their Asian offerings such as their Nasi Lemak, Oriental Soup Bowl, Curry Noodles, Japanese Noodles compared to the western fare. There's also some raw vegan dishes but portions are small.
Dessert wise, the ice cream and waffles are good. I don't drink coffee so can't comment on that but many have been raving about it.
They also organise very interesting PlantPower Talks to encourage others about veganism. And there's a library section which features local author's books on raw, vegan food.
I was told that everyone working there leads a plant-based lifestyle :)
Pros: Love all their Asian offerings, Helpful staff, Run by vegans, so guaranteed vegan

Not to be missed - Edit
Everything here is vegan so there is no hassle in having the staff check if there is dairy or eggs in any of the dishes.
Read moreIt's nice to see some local flavours in the menu such as Bak Kut Teh and Nasi Lemak amongst other Western and Asian flavours. They also make their own sourdough bread in- house and sells them on the premises.
I've been here twice in my 4 day stopover in KL - all for the waffles! They are one of the best I've had, I would even go as far as to say that they can rival some pretty decent non-vegan Belgian waffles out there.
It has a perfectly crisp exterior and a wonderfully chewy and slightly cakey sourdough centre, topped with either bananas, berries, chocolate sauce or everything - but don't forget the ice cream. They have an ice cream connoisseur who creates all their ice cream flavours including black sesame, dark chocolate and LN Fortunate's special ice cream.
Pros: Great Service, Friendly Staff, Freshly Baked Goods

Vegan waffle heaven! - Edit
I've only tried the waffles here, but they are delicious! Crispy on the outside and fluffy and light inside, and just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend the dark chocolate ice cream - it is rich, and again, perfect in terms of sweetness.

Wonderful vegan place, healthy&tasty food - Edit
LN Fortunate coffee is a wonderful place that deserves a visit to try it out.
Read moreAlthough they are primarily a coffee house, they also do offer a selected range of delicious and consequently vegan snacks. What is special is that they make all the products that they sell themselves - from their delicious sourdough bread, over the patties for the burgers, right up to the fat-free fries, sauces and their vegan ice cream and waffles.
My favourite is their grilled tempeh sandwich, which is not only delicious and filling, but at 8 RM (about 2 EUR) can even be considered a very good bargain for a dish in such a place.
They have a daily changing range of dishes, and a number of specialty coffees. Especially their "3 in the afternoon" variety (coffee is frozen to ice cubes and is served with soymilk) is a creative and delicious treat that I have not encountered earlier.
As an added bonus, both management and all of their employees are vegans. The owner assured us that this was not actually a requirement for hiring, however it worked out that way, and they are really happy about it.
Pros: Delicious food, Healthy, all ingredients made in-house, Nice place and great service
Cons: Parking can be an issue

Super friendly, artisan coffee, great desserts and pasta! - Edit
A recently opened café in a prominently Koreatown-like area, with all vegan sourdough products and a medium-sized but well-curated menu. We had two types of pasta, a tozza (toast pizza with a mix of fruity and savoury toppings as well as soy cheese), some drip coffee (served in a little glass bottle to be poured into a wine glass over ice, feels very fancy but not in a bad way), some very aromatic tea and a chocolate sauce waffle with chocolate ice cream. Would absolutely come here again.
