Langholtsvegur 43, Reykjavik, Iceland, 104

The Light is located in a rehabilitation centre for oncological patients. Each day menu changes. Food is served downstairs. Call before 10am if coming with more than 3 persons. Removed as this dining service is only open to cancer patients in rehabilitation.

Green Choice in a green space - Edit

This is the home-style revival of Graenn Kostur, Iceland's first veg restaurant which in it's last years was brought to bloom by current chef of Ljosid. Icelanders aren't big lovers of other soups but thai and asparagus in wintertime, but this chef made them fans of all soups. There's something magical in her soup spoon. In Ljosid you will mostly find former patients who are full of hope after regaining their lives and eating in a very positive space. Since the space is small and the opening hours are so short, I'd recommend coming for a takeaway, especially calling in advance, since each day the sole chef cooks for c.50 people. By eating there, you support the community and that's one positive karma point for them and you ;)

Pros: lovely space and people, international dishes with world music , cheapest price in town
