Don’t come, snarky and rude Owner!!

To Little T’s Café,

I recently visited your café and requested oat milk for my tea due to a severe allergy to cow’s milk. Despite this, I was served cow’s milk, which caused me to have an allergic reaction. Your staff confirmed that the docket clearly stated “oat milk,” so the mistake was on your end, not ours. As the owner, it’s your responsibility to ensure proper training and systems are in place to avoid dangerous errors like this—not to deflect blame.

What truly shocked me was your response. Instead of focusing on the serious health risk your mistake caused, you chose to minimize the issue with excuses like “the sign was too small” and even threw in a completely unnecessary and inappropriate comment about teaching kids to cover their mouths when sneezing. Let me make this clear: this has nothing to do with sneezing children and everything to do with your café’s inability to handle allergy requests safely.

If you think an allergic reaction is a small matter that can be resolved with a ginger beer and an apple muffin, you are gravely mistaken. Food allergies are life-threatening, and your response shows a blatant disregard for customer safety and well-being.

I won’t be returning, and I hope others with dietary needs think twice before trusting your café. Perhaps you should spend less time making snide remarks and more time ensuring your processes and systems don’t put people’s lives at risk.
