No vegan options available

Staff is nice and polite but does not speak English. They use chicken and pork broth for soups and sauces which cannot replaced. So if you really want to have vegan dishes, do not come here. If you are fine with vegetarian, you can order this with a special request in their order system via QR code. They cannot veganize their dishes and the communication was really hard. Try to find another place if vegan is mandatory for you.

Probably Are Better Options in Town

It was pretty difficult to get across that we didn't want animal products. The food was good enough but I probably wouldn't come here again. I give it three stars because there aren't a lot of options in Kanazawa, at the moment, anyway.

Pros: Lots of vegetables

Cons: Difficult to order vegan options

We weren't vegan this day

The waiter was friendly but didn't speak English or knew what ingredients were in the meals so even presenting him the vegan card didn't help. The chef was too busy to speak to us so the waiter offered us curry options in which we ordered red and mussaman. As we were eating the curry, we were sure we could taste fish sauce or shrimp paste but were being hopeful that it was just heavily salted. By the end of it, the flavour was just too strong and overbearing that it just had to be fish sauce or shrimp paste. After being vegan for 3 years you can really taste and smell animal products/odours. We use vegan fish sauce at home and it's nothing like this so it's completely noticeable. We tried to speak to the chef to ask if he was sure that maybe in the paste had fish sauce or shrimp paste but he refused to talk to us. I understand that in Japanese culture that it can be offensive to question the chef's cooking but to offer us vegan options when it's not vegan is unacceptable. We were so upset to have eaten animal products after 3 years. The vegan card doesn't work in Japan as it states no animals products including dashi however Thai food contains fish sauce or shrimp paste. Best advice is to speak to the chef for vegan options and not the waiter. The other reviews I'm sure have also been mistaken for vegan as practically all Thai cooking contains these ingredients.

Pros: Rude chef

Cons: NOT VEGAN!

Not quite there for vegetarians & vegans

We’re excited to visit this Thai restaurant given the vegetarian options usually on offer but our experience was disappointing. The waiter didn’t appear knowledgeable about vegetarian food and it took some back and forth to settle on menu items that could be adapted. This would be understandable if they weren’t used to vegetarians and vegans but we noticed another vegan couple also struggling to order. My guess is they would encounter these requests daily. To their credit the food was good when it arrived but the portions were very small. In all I would only suggest this place if you’ve exhausted other options.

Delicious spicy Thai food

Close to where I work but not open for lunch, so finally came here one evening with two friends who had been in Thailand not long before. They loved it - said it was pretty much the authentic flavor - and I loved it too. Definitely not everything on the menu if vegan or vegetarian, but the menu is extensive and they have some options!

Pros: Delicious and authentic, Extensive menu, Friendly staff

Cons: Not all vegan, Not super cheap (not super expensive either)

Great Thai food

Ok, this is not the most romantic place in Kanazawa and it doesn’t smell like roses but wow, food is delicious! Staff understands English, and if you have the Japanese vegan card (the card saying what vegan means in Japanese, available from the Internet), it’s easy. They can make almost everything vegan. I had a noodles salad, refreshing and colorful. And the best Tom Yum soup after my trip to Thailand! The food is really delicious, I recommend it

Pros: Delicious Thai food , Staff understand English

Cons: Slow service , A bit smelly
