amazing - Edit
I would eat here everyday if could!
Read moreWe were greeted with a delicious rosehip tea and the chef explained the menu to us. She does a set menu everyday, everything she cooks is vegan and full of flavour and is such a great break from what is easy to find in Tokyo.
We had a delicious soup (can't stress how good the soup was), small garden salad, Chinese cabbage in sesame sauce, pita bread with vegan cream cheese (she makes it herself!) and a delicious chickpea curry. We then were offered a choice of g/f, vegan muffin or grape jelly with whipped soy cream for dessert. We tried both - amazing!
Left with full bellies and big smiles, all for Y1000!

Five minutes away from Asakusa metro station - Edit
I fell in love with this place and went there three times during my trips. The owner always recognized me and I had the change to talk to her a bit. I will come back for sure! This is a great place for when you are visiting the temple.
Read moreI always had the chef's plate that only costed 1000YEN and it included starters, main meal and desserts. The plate changes every day, and it was always something tasty. It was a good mix of carbs, proteins, greens and sweets. You can feel this food is made with love. Two tea drinks were also included in the set. That's an amazing price for so much food.
The interior of this place is very cozy, owner pays a lot of attention to the small details.
The owner also gave me tea bags to bring home so I could have warm drinks during my stay. I will miss this place a lot. I am grateful for the hospitality the owner showed me.
Pros: Cheap, Near metro station, Cozy and welcoming

The best muffins! - Edit
If you have a chance to eat here, do. The lady who runs the place does not speak a lot of English, but she is very sweet and helpful:)
Read moreYou get a full meal including dessert for 1000 yen which is very cheap for Tokyo. We got a potato and bean stew with rice, pita bread, a small macaroni and cheese (vegan cheese she made herself), as well as two small samosas. For dessert we got a banana bread muffin and apple and cinnamon muffin. These were the best muffins we've Ever had. We were so full after the lunch but ate every last crumb.
When we left she gave us some tea and dates for the road(!). This was one of our greatest restaurant/café experiences in Tokyo:)
Pros: Muffins!, Cheap, Cozy atmosphere

We headed to Little Saebejae on our last day in Japan and I'm truly happy we chose this place! The experience was divine to say the least. The food tasted wonderful (definitely recommend the muffins!). The lunch reminded me of a comforting home-cooked meal. Not to mention, the service here is amazing! The owner made us feel right at home and even gave us free desserts and a cup of tea + a slice of her cherry rose muffin to me on the house! The lunch set is really affordable and extremely worth it (maybe even more)! I'm sad to be leaving Japan tomorrow but I'll definitely drop by Little Saebejae in the future when I'm back!

a gem of a find - Edit
I walked for 45 minutes in the heat to find this place and it was well worth the journey. The interior, ambience, owner and food surpassed my high expectations from the positive reviews I read. It is not at all difficult to find and the food is wonderful - it's exactly like a home-cooked meal, just as someone said. I can't say enough good things about this place. One of my all-time favourite travel finds and the muffins are the best I've ever had!

Fantastic little place - Edit
Don't get intimidated by the "back alley-feeling" of the street, you just can't miss this place! The menu is not so wide but there's the "Vegan meal of the day" for 1000yen. Ours was fantastic! Super friendly woman (guess she's the owner). Imagine yourself being invited to your friends super cozy house and eating a fantastic homemade dish – that's what you'll get. Just a few minutes walk from Asakusa Station, well away from the hectic metropolis stress.

Very nice place and service! - Edit
I was totally overbluft of the decoration of this cute little restaurant. Every little detail is perfect finished, even the restroom. I liked the crockery and even the music is pretty. The lady who cooks all the dishes by herself is very kind and grateful. She is very well informed about vegan. She has a vegan muffin as well!

Incredibly delicious! - Edit
I went to this cute little restaurant with my brother and his friend this week. It is very lovely decorated and even the toilet looked wonderful. Yes..that is worth to be mentioned ;). We ordered today's chefs plate which was a soup, salad, couscous salad and a flatbread with veggies. And we also tried the muffin of the day which was a blueberry muffin and a mango trifle. Afterwards we got a small extra dessert. Everything was incredibly delicious and my brother and his friend loved the food even though they are not vegan. The owner was very kind and we had a nice conversation.

Very pretty place with nice food - Edit
I went there with my friend for lunch and first was amazed how pretty the place was! Nicely decorated and cozy. One lady is the owner, chef and server all at the same time! She was very sweet and her food was amazing. Perfect seasoning, very fresh (mainly or mostly organic) ingredients and nice portion. The lunch plate we ordered was 1000 yen and you get more than what 1000 yen is worth.
Read moreAlthough not too clearly stated inside the place, everything in that place is vegan :)
Her muffin was incredibly tasty! It was gluten-free and oil-free but so fluffy, flavorful and nicely sweet. Her beverage is also of very high quality.
I could stay there forever lol
Pros: Nicest food/drink with very reasonable price, Sweet lady, Cozy atmosphere
Cons: None!

Best Vegan Restaurant in Tokyo! - Edit
Went here with my friend yesterday and was unfortunately turned away as it was closing time. However came back the next day as we were in the neighbourhood and had the most delicious meal! The owner also recognised us from the day before and insisted on giving us each a free vegan muffin to say sorry! We paid 1000 yen for a set menu and for what you pay you get a lot! Would definitely recommend. The restaurant is also decorated beautifully - tucked around the corner from Asakusa station.

My favourite place in Tokyo. - Edit
We were greeted at the door by one of the sweetest, loveliest hostesses I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The Chef's Vegan Meal of the day was a mix of noodles, soup, pasta, salad and rice or pita bread and was truly delicious - even the soy cheese! We had all this, a tea or coffee and a dessert of cherry jelly all for 1,000 yen so it really was great value for money. The food, atmosphere and service was top notch, with the hostess (who was also the chef!) really doting on us and making sure we were welcome and satisfied. It was a true pleasure to eat here.
