A Fairbanks gold mine! - Edit
If I had been in Fairbanks longer, I would have come here multiple times.. mainly for breakfast! The coffee is wonderful and the baked goods case is full of vegan options.
Read moreI very much enjoyed my vegan waffle. I also got the vegan breakfast wrap which was a little tough on the shell.. and totally could use like a spicy, green avocado sauce for dipping. But, was still very good!
The options for lunch appeared to be a grab and go tabouli salad, a hummus & veggie wrap, or breakfast for lunch.
The menu is largely vegan and we were so glad to find this place! Also a great place for gluten-free options, if that applies to you.
Oh, and while portion sizes are not huge, this was the most affordable place we ate in Alaska by far.
Pros: Affordable, Large selection of vegan items , Yummy coffee, food & baked goods
Cons: Smaller portions, Some of the gluten-free swaps were a little tough

Many tasty baked goods to choose from! Pretty big menu with multiple vegan options to choose from. I got the burrito and my only qualm was it could use some sauce!

Great vegan options - Edit
We love going to Little Owl for a sit down treat. Options for vegan breakfast and lunch are limited in Fairbanks. Our favorites are the breakfast sandwich, burrito, and if they have a soup of the day that is vegan (the wild rice and mushroom is my all time fav!) can’t go wrong with any of their drinks, they are crafted with care. Always get either a coffee, house made spice chai, or matcha. All their vegan treats are great. Lately they’ve added a chocolate mint cupcake which is great. 😊

Sweet little cafe with lots of vegan and gluten free options - Edit
The Little owl cafe is a sweet little spot right in town that has a huge list of specialty drinks, a breakfast and lunch menu along with a wide variety of vegan and gluten free pastries. I ordered an oat milk latte with the vegan breakfast burrito. The burrito came in a warm, nicely pressed tortilla along with a little side of gauc for dipping. I had to double check if this was actually vegan because the flavor of the plant-based chorizo and the texture of the “egg” was scarily similar to what the dish was trying to imitate. The Little Owl Cafe should host a master class on breakfast burrito engineering. It was perfectly assembled and remained in-tact for the whole meal without anything falling out, breaking apart or becoming super soggy. The portion size was perfect and it left me feeling completely satisfied. Also, I couldn't believe the prices! Everything was SO affordable!

They have Just Egg and Violife cheddar that you can sub in any dish. Also vegan Belgian waffles & several non-dairy milks. Portions were a little small but fair for the prices.

Fantastic little vegan-friendly place! - Edit
Wish I could give this place five stars. Ordered the vegan waffles (with whipped cream since they didn't have vegan butter), a vegan breakfast sandwich, and a vanilla latte. All were fantastic, and service was friendly. The prices were great too. If you're a vegan on a budget, look no more... Wish I could go back!

Cute place! - Edit
Especially in a town with few vegan options this was a welcome respite! Vegan waffles, wide variety of vegan (and non) food options including baked goods! Everything labeled with allergy info. Staff was friendly and knew all about the vegan options. Cute seating area inside, and some nice tables outside, too! Smallish portions but good for the price, I thought.

Great little spot! - Edit
They seemed very excited they could make all the breakfast sammies vegan because they recently got Just Egg and they have vegan cheese on hand. Half their desserts are vegan and there wasn't an upcharge for non-dairy milk.
