Thankful They’re Here! - Edit
We stopped on a day when they were at the Underwear Factory & also taking part in DCSPCA’s restaurant fundraiser!! The food was good, but we won’t go out of our way to get it again - we’re glad it’s available though!!!
Read moreUPDATE: In October 2025 we went to New Paltz, there was more food selection but not much room to sit — I use a wheelchair and it was tight — so we got our food to go.

The Croissants are Their Bread and Butter (Literally) - Edit
Let me start off by saying that I love Little Loaf— always have and always will. I consider myself a regular customer. I used to go at least once a week when I lived in the Hudson Valley, and ever since I moved— I go every time I visit.
Read moreTheir croissants are out of this world. Especially their savory ones! My favorite menu item is their Sausage Egg & Cheese and I get it on a pretzel croissant with the spicy aioli. I’ve been getting it for such a long time and it never disappoints.
With this being said— and if I’m being completely honest— I think their other desserts fall short. I’ve tried their cupcakes and cookies and they leave me wanting more. They feel as if they are an afterthought and they are— because the croissants are the real star of the show.
Even though their desserts are not my cup of tea, I still always try and support them when I can— because all of their croissants are phenomenal. And they are a small, queer-owned business. We love to see it!
The prices are expensive, so be prepared— but in my opinion, their handmade laminated pastries are worth the hype & then some.

Amazing vegan pastries and breakfast/lunch - Edit
This is the second time we’ve eaten here. They have incredibly rich and tasty pastries with a pastry chef that should win awards.
Read moreWe came for lunch twice and their items are really good. Hint: the size of the bread determines the amount of the contents. So the brioche roll is the smallest and the ciabatta roll is the largest. The croissant falls in the middle.
The winners are definitely the pasties. Not inexpensive but even my non-vegan, non-vegetarian wife said they are amazing.
Try this place and you won’t be disappointed. Super clean and the staff is really helpful and friendly.
Pros: Pastries (we’ve tried most), Breakfast and lunch menu, Service, super clean

Delicious - Edit
As usual, pastries were delicious.
Read moreNew location in New Paltz much more crowded and busy than old Poughkeepsie location. Granted we did arrive at lunchtime, but we had to get our food to go since there was no available seating.
Much larger staff and menu selection.
Breakfast sandwich was delicious but unless you’re a die hard hippie steer clear of the breakfast bowl (also if you can’t digest coconut as the cheesy sauce had lots of coconut fat). Latte was oddly small.
Look forward to getting back when things have settled in.

I beyond thrilled to have Little Loaf closer to home!
Read moreAll their bowls are gf and 100% delicious. The Italian bowl is my favourite, but you can't go wrong with any of them.
I recently have the PBJ cookie as well and was pleasantly surprised by how great it was.
They will be adding more gf options in the future which I can't wait for.
Such a cute space, with AMAZING staff, a lovely vibe and super cute bathrooms too.

Dreaming of these pastries - Edit
I am obsessed with Little Loaf Bakeshop! It seriously has the best vegan pastries, with both sweet and savory options. I've ordered them both at The Vegan Market and at RI Veg Fest. Every pastry hits and delights. It is a must buy at their brick n mortar or when at a vegan popup!

Superb - Edit
Had their goodies at the Vegan Market in Somerville, MA. The line was out the door when we got there so we knew it would be good. They have quite the variety and we enjoyed everything from the double chocolate croissant to funfetti cookie to cannoli danish to pistachio-cranberry doughnut.

Best There Is - Edit
I drive 3 hours from Philly (6hrs round trip) for these croissants. I feel like that’s enough of a statement, but just in case…. These croissants hit every sweet spot for me… flaky, dense, rich, creative. Sometimes the flavors get a little too kooky and the stuffed croissants are indeed very stuffed, but honestly, if I can’t get the Everything Chipotle, the pretzel/pesto/olive, or the mushroom croissants 3-4 times per year I think I might perish?

Savory pastry HEAVEN 😍 - Edit
Little Loaf has quickly become an obsession. We first tried their pastries at Peaceful Provisions and were hooked! They make the most perfect savory pastries, and are the only bakery (to my knowledge) making vegan savory pastries. The mushroom bechamel tart and pesto feta danish are to live for.
Read moreYou can get Little Loaf goodies at lots of local vegan businesses: Peaceful Provisions, Sweet Maresa’s, Lagusta’s, and Blackbird Info Shop to name a few. They are also at the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory on select days. They have a few items that are not vegan, so be sure to pay close attention to the labels!
Update: Little Loaf is now 100% vegan, although Happy Cow still won’t let me give them full stars!

Fantastically flakey pastries - Edit
We were visiting from Portland, Oregon which has some awesome vegan bakeries and the flakiness of these pastries at Little Loaf was fantastic. We came back for lunch as well and got a few breakfast sandwiches. Also, the really know how to make a good vegan cappuccino! Staff was super friendly and gave us other good vegan recommendations in town.

Simply a must-try if you are in the area. If not, they travel to some New England events like vegan festivals and markets. I personally have driven over an hour to get their croissants and I would do so again in a heartbeat

Best vegan croissants ever! - Edit
Welcoming, spacious, and cool space on a hot day. Excellent—and not overpriced—iced oat milk late. The croissants were generously sized and out of this world! Pretzel croissant is unexpectedly awesome and the almond croissant is what dreams are made of. A must-visit if you’re in the area.

Absolute pastry perfection - Edit
We tried the breakfast sandwiches, chocolate croissant, mushroom bechamel pastry, blueberry lemon danish, and pesto and cheese danish. All were absolutely perfect. Great prices, the people were so friendly, and we can’t wait to go back and maybe actually take some pictures of the food before we eat it!

All vegan, two tasty sandwiches, good coffee, pleasant atmosphere - Edit
We wanted a lunch rather than a sweet snack and the two sandwich items hit the spot. One was a vegan egg-sausage-cheese on a croissant (delicious and filling) and a vegan ham-and-jam on a roll (tasty and a little sweet, with nice greens). The seating space is comfortable, spacious, and a pleasant place to hang out, write your novel, work at your laptop, or converse with friends. The Little Loaf Bakeshop appears to be currently the only retail business in the large Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory, a mixed-use space for artists and community events a half-block off Main Street. Outstanding service. Excellent coffee selection and quality. LGBTQ+ owned!
