Lunch curry - Edit
I found a most wonderful thali with Tarka Dahl and Aloo gobi. All very delicious. Just watch out for the raita on the side… it was dairy.

Excellent curries with a couple of vegan options - Edit
Ordered two curries for takeaways from the online ordering system, which was very easy. Under the vegetarian options, look for the little "vr" symbol below the item, which means it can be made vegan on request (which I added in the notes section for each item when ordering).
Read moreThe Saag Aloo (spinach and potato curry) was excellent. Great flavour and texture - not thin or runny. The Dal Makhani was very good, but not as flavoursome and the heat (we ordered extremely hot which we are used to) overpowered the taste of the curry.
Overall, we would not hesitate to get takeaways from Little India. Can't comment on the dine-in experience.

Cons: Limited vegan options, Lack of vegan bread options (all had egg or ghee)

They have a vegetarian menu with many vegan options. Very helpful staff with the menu to help us find something nice for our slightly fussy daughter 🤣 Sat outside as was a warm evening.

Best Indian restaurant in Nelson - Edit
They have quite a few vegan options. Rice is nice and moist, not dry. Live the vegan samosas and tge sauce it comes with. 😍 Friendly's staff, nice atmosphere, central. You can also eat outside.

Beautiful food, lovely service - Edit
My hubby and I absolutely loved the food here at Little India, and the people who work here are all very knowledgeable, kind and friendly. We tried many dishes, so much so to the point where we were so full we had to bring some home with us. We had the samosas, which were amazing, the Aloo Sag, our favourite, and the Dal Makhani, plus roti and pappadoms, chutney and pickles - so much food! The service was great and friendly, and the ambiance was lovely. Definitely going here again!! Four thumbs up!
