No vegan options really

I was expecting better vegan food based on the two reviews here on HC. All I got was steamed veggies with tofu and rice.

This is just your typical Asian takeout place except that there’s plenty of seating and you can dine in. They were playing vintage music and the decor has these nice old vibes. The staff was super friendly.

However, they all seemed unsure of what vegan means. They do have a “vegetarian” section on the menu. But they told me they could only make me the steamed veggies.

I dislike eating at carnist places and I don’t like the “steamed” veggies from this kind of places, because they’re not really steamed, they’re boiled pretty much. Boiled in a wok that they sometimes don’t wash very well between cooking different dishes. So sometimes the veg have this residue that is reminiscent of dead flesh broth.

If you’re the kind of vegan who doesn’t mind when vegan food is cooked on shared equipment, I suppose you’d be fine with this. I always get a bit finicky because you just never know how well they washed that wok lol.

So yeah this is not the best place for vegans. Just go to the Green Point juicery next door.

Vegan friendly

Extremely friendly staff. Ask for Marty, tell him you’re vegan, and he will take amazing care of you! The vegan dishes are very tasty!

Yummy!

Very good! Wait staff was very friendly as well! They have a nice full page vegetarian menu as well as other vegetable sections.
