Best place for vegan food! - Edit

The Menu is a dream of varieties. The waitress is one of the kindest I ever met. She is also arranging the garden, talking to customers, travelling to get even more inspiration to create more amazing food etc.
Felt very welcomed there. Will definitely go again and again.

Beware of the really sweet cats. The red one likes to be cuddled, but there is a reason. They also know about the really tasty meals. And won't stop before they succeed (:::

Pros: Everything vegan. Very tasty. Fair prices.

Cons: none

Wonderful Vegan Dining Experience - Edit

If all vegan food tasted half this good, the whole world would be vegan!

Seriously, this welcoming place serves up genuinely delicious and healthful food. We ate there twice during our visit to Athens last week, and would be regulars if we lived in Greece.

We especially loved the greens because of the freshness and the amazing bar-b-que dressing. Desserts are wonderful, too, and the main courses were hearty and satisfying.

As good as the food was, however, the friendly service really made the whole experience a true pleasure. And you can even bring your non-vegan friends there, knowing that they won’t be disappointed!

Pros: Food quality, Service

Fantastic! - Edit

This is one of the best vegan restaurants I've been to!
Cozy environment and very friendly staff. Me and my friend went here twice during our trip to Athens.

The first time we had the mushroom pasta and the risotto with asparsgus, macadamia och lime.

The second time we tried two specials of the day, gyros made of oyster-mushrooms and home-made gluten-free bread and a mushroom risotto. My favourite was the pasta but all dishes were fantastic!

Pros: Friendly Staff, Perfect meny, Special of the day

Best place in Athens - Edit

Really the best vegan place in Athens. They offer traditional Greek dishes made vegan. The place is small but cosy, the kitchen is open, and the staff are extremely friendly and passionate about what they do. Definitely recommended! We had fava and dokas as appetisers, followed by chili sin carne and a traditional Greek soup with vegan meatballs. The portions were just so big that we didn’t have any room for desserts, even if they all looked delicious.

Pros: vegan versions of Greek dishes, friendly, passionate staff, great food

Cons: small place

Dinner in the dark - Edit

With delicious food as enjoyed yesterday it does not matter if it is served in the dark. Guerilla cooking at its finest due to a blackout in the restaurant showed us a different meaning of "black burger" 😀

Happy we eat, happier we live :) - Edit

This was my second visit to Athens, and first after turning vegan. Although I never used the Happy Cow app before, I was hopeful that it won't upset me :(. Infact it didn't :) Being alone, and just a weekend and the Monday to spend in Athens, I looked for the most important thing, that had crucial significance on the purpose of this visit. Actually, I went to run the 35th Athens marathon, and therefore one important thing I had to do the day before, was to load my tummy with carbs. Pasta should be good option right! Read ahead... After looking at the vegan options, Limo Bistro was my first choice to visit for a pre-race dinner. They have special meals everyday, a different one everyday. I was served an amazing quinoa pasta with red lentil and besamel made with truffle potatoes, garnished with green salad and almond cheese! Gosh, I still crave for that pasta :D, although my prepared vegan pasta is equally tasty, if not good enough ;). I also had a lactose free smoothie bowl for dessert, that was smooth as silk! All these for almost (may be 1-1.5x) the same price of a non-vegan pasta and smoothie, if I had one at some random restaurant. The best thing I appreciate about Lime Bistro is that the effort the people make toward making some healthy and tasty eco-friendly food, at a reasonable price, and at a sufficiently suited quantity. I was so impressed by their quality of fresh vegan menu, that after my race the next day, I visited them again for a dinner. This time, I opted for a nice big salad with lot of vegetables, topped with lots of herbs and extra almond cheese :D, together with a freshly squashed lemon juice with added turmeric and some other herbs. Unfortunately, I couldn't visit them on Monday, as they were closed :(, however, I explore other vegan options on Monday (whose review I have written in their respective places ;)). So, to all my eco-friendly plant eating friends (and also the anti-plant eaters ;) :P), who might be visiting Athens sooner or later, you must definitely give my friends at Limo Bistro a visit, if you are looking for a great place to eat something healthy and tasty :), and I'm pretty sure that they won't disappoint you :). Well, I wish I could get such awesome food before every single of my future races :(, but may be I would, give I run Athens marathon again ;)

Pros: Freshly prepared vegan menu, at reasonable price, Very friendly hosts, Great place to hang around with family and friends

Cons: Can a place providing fresh vegan food have flaws?, My anti-plant eating friends are best to decide...

Heaven on Earth - Edit

I'm so sad we only stayed in Athens a couple of days and could not return to Lime Bistro for a second or third time. We always do a "vegan restaurant tour" in every country we visit using Happy Cow and we've been to many, but I have to say this was probably the best one so far. We had dakos salad, gyros and a cheesecake. I have no words to describe our meal. It was simply amazing! The staff is really nice too. First thing I'll do if one day I go back to Greece is pay them a visit. We visited 2 other vegan places in Athens, but Lime Bistro is the only one I think deserves 5 stars.

Pros: Delicious food, Fair price for what is served, Near metro station

Cons: Would be nice to have photos on the menu

vegan, Greek style - Edit

Lime Bistro is a very good restaurant. The food is excelent, the service very friendly, and the ambiance is as if you eat at the house of friends.
The menu is Vegan with Raw options. We ate their gyros, and tasted heaven.
Not only the food that the food is vegan, they do their best as not to waste food. It means that they prepare the right quantity so that they do not have to throw away.
It is only one year since they opened, but it felled as if they were there for ever.

Pros: only vegan menu, with raw options.

Cons: it is not easy to find for tourists. lime bistro i

Happy to find a place with vegan food! - Edit

We had lunch at Lime Bistro and it was great! First of all, the place was closed when we arrived but the staff was so kind and served us anyways.

Our server was able to translate everything for us and recommended dishes. We really liked the sushi, another dish with the seaweed in it was also excellent. My daughter couldn't get enough of it.

Everything we had was tasty and fresh.

I had such a good cappuccino, it blew my mind.
We highly recommend this place.

mt040 11 Oct 2017 - Hello ! This is Alkistis i am usually serving in lime bistro !
We are really disapointed you think our prices range is high but we have to inform you that everything we use is organic and costs anyway too much and for us additional to have this result we occupy many people ! Also too many of our clients think that they are full and the portions are rather big ! Thanks anyway for your review no hurt feeling ! Enioy traveling !

KeniaMelo 08 Nov 2017 - Me and my husband actually thought the price was very fair. We had salad, main, dessert and alcoholic beverages and it was still cheaper than what we pay for just a main course and water in a normal, non-organic restaurant where we live. We shared the 3 food items and honestly... I was super full when we left. Everyone has their own opinions, but I read all reviews before going there and yours was the one that was stuck on my mind, so I thought we'd have to order many items to be full. I'm glad our experience was beyond our expectations.

Amazing experience - Edit

Although I'm not a vegan, I have been here a few times with my best friends! I keep coming back for the amazing food, for the quality of the products used and for the always smiling staff. My best friend is a vegan and claims that this is the best vegan bistro in town.

Pros: Food quality, Taste, Friendly Staff

Cons: Not open for breakfast

Collest vegan place in Athens Greece - Edit

i have been there several times. I am now starting exploring my diet as a vegeterian and maybe one day vegan. I do it for environmental and societal issues thus I thought to take it step by step. I was afraid I will not find it delicious. And then Lime Bistro came into my life. I keep returning there. the food is delicious. It is not only vegan but healthy as well (gluten free) plus the prices are normal for such a high quality! Plus the girls that have it I LOVE THEM!

Pros: food taste, healthy , prices

Cons: location - far from where i live, a bit small-wish it was bigger and had more tables

Nice raw dishes - Edit

The very sweet staff was very helpful in advising me the right raw vegan dishes. I tried most of them and they were all nice. I would certainly come back here next time I'm in Athens.

Pros: all vegan, some raw food dishes, raw vegan deserts

Cons: presentation of the dishes could be improved , seating on the benches a bit uncomfortable

My husband and I ate here two nights in a row. The food was incredible! We have eaten at some of the best vegan restaurants in the U.S., California, New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and none can compare to the food here! The mushroom pasta in truffle oil was the best dish I've ever tasted! The smoothies, burgers, gyro's and desserts are so delicious! Absolutely worth the trip! The people were so friendly and accommodating. Overall the entire experience was great! Wish we could take the whole place home with us! Until next time! ❤️

Best pasta EVERRR - Edit

I only had a short time in Athens and was determined to find this place. I got lost but kept going til I found it - and it was so worth it! The staff were lovely - so friendly and helpful and genuine vegans trying to make the world a better place. It's in a quiet street which makes it a great spot to unwind after rushing through Athens. I had the wild mushroom pasta and it's honestly probably the best pasta I've ever had. It was reasonably priced and the rose and lavender lemonade sealed the deal! They have a good selection of wine and beer, too! It's open and airy, peaceful and clean. A great dining experience, I wish I could go back! It's about 100m down the road from the metro station (Kerameikos). If you are in Athens - go here!!!! (They have a gorgeous cat, too!)

Pros: Food was amazing , Service was excellent , Prices were reasonable
