⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Service can be inconsistent but I’m a sucker for the vegan Stromboli with tofu and atomic sauce. Getting vegan pizza here can get quite expensive but the Stromboli is a good deal and can last me 2-3 meals.

Great pizza - bad everything else

Very inconsistent - for delivery they've canceled my order before after it seemed like it was being prepared for an hour. Often they don't have the vegan dough. Love the place when they get it right but it's such a toss up. When in the store have encountered rude workers and long wait times.

Amazing!!!

We have a build your own vegan pizza tonight with mushrooms. I was so hungry I didn’t get a photo until most of it was gone, but here’s some leftover photos. This was so so delicious!!! Amazing crust and sauce. Daiya vegan cheese.

Long wait (40 minute) so call ahead.

An institution!

My husband and I had our first date here in 2009 with a vegan cheese pizza! Their salads and dressings are awesome too! Plus great beers!

Now have a vegan dough

After finding out their dough had honey (in 2018 I believe) I spoke to one of the owners and was able to get them to add an agave dough.. So don't be detered by comments saying there's no vegan dough. Thank goodness because their pizza is *delicious*! Yay!

They also run out of the vegan dough by the end of the week so always ask. Phone person is not always knowledgeable about the vegan dough so we often have to speak to someone else.

Still.. Good enough that we keep going!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Delicious

Cons: Not always knowledgeable staff, Long wait, Very Loud

Local treasure that takes time, so prepare for a wait

It’s really good pizza with great vegan options. Good beer selection as well. The service isn’t fabulous due to high volume of customers, but when you are patient the servers are really kind and try their best. It’s just a busy place... and generally stays busy. So, go when you’ve got some time!! Fake meats, lots of veg, and vegan cheese! The crust is also very good.

Pros: Lots of vegan pizza options , Good beer choices , Great location

Cons: A little pricy, Long wait

Holy Wowzas!

I stopped by before dinner, so they were not busy at all. The pizza took 35 minutes. I would wait an hour for it though; it’s incredible!

Pros: Taste and crust!, Lots of veggie options., The patio.

Vegan Pizza

Lilly's Pizza has a long list of vegan toppings to choose from including daiya, tofu, chk'n strips and just about any veggie you can imagine. The pizza was great and the decorations were fun to look at. What more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon.

Pros: LOTS of Toppings

Cons: Long Wait for Food

One of my favorites

Love the vegan stromboli. Mondays you get beer on the cheap. Love the tofu salad too - one of my favorite salads anywhere ever.

Pros: delicious food, well-priced, good location

Cons: ordering & getting your food can be slow, they get REALLY busy, sometimes confusing if you're not a local/regular.

Awesome Vegan Pizza

Lilly's pizza makes one of the best vegan pizzas around. They had a sign up in 2018 saying that they NO LONGER use HONEY in their pizza crust, but I'm sure you can double check when you order, it's now agave syrup instead..We love to get the Vegan (diaya) cheese pizza with tomatoes, artichoke hearts and fresh basil, with a side of "fuzzy duck" salad. It is true that you have to wait along time for you pizza, sometimes up to an hour if you come during the rush hour, but it is worth the wait. And it is really smokey in there. But they do have outside seating. would leave 5 stars if we could. There is one worker/lady in there that is always very super friendly and funny that we like seeing

Pros: Great Pizza, Filling Pizza

Cons: parking, smokey enviornment, loud

Greasy, smoky, loud

The pizzas are greasy.
The restaurant is always full of smoke.
It is so loud that conversation is yelling, not talking.
The bathrooms are disgusting.

They have creative pizzas, but I couldn't handle the poor food quality and atmosphere.

Pros: Interesting menu

Cons: Greasy, Sub-par crust, Noise/Dirt

Lots of veg options!

I've been to Lily's twice before and have gotten pizzas loaded with vegetarian toppings - all delicious! The wait for food can be a little long and I don't love the prices, but at least the food is good.

Pros: Lots of vegetarian options, Good food

Cons: Expensive, Long

Not truly vegan

Lilly's pizza crust is not vegan because it contains honey. While you can special order a crust without the honey, what's frustrating is that after I asked them about it on social media, they said they something along the lines of "all the vegans we know are okay with honey in our crust" and something like "our honey comes from happy bees." Fine, whatever, except the world-wide definition of vegan excludes consumption of honey. And if the majority of vegans that eat at Lilly's in the Triangle are okay with honey they are a smaller population. I hope it's obvious they would say that statement because all the other vegans NOT okay with honey are eating at every other place that doesn't use animal products in their pizza crust).

Oh, how I wish Lilly's would switch to maple syrup or agave because the crust is very good, they have delicious tofu and vegan cheese as toppings, and they're local. They are SUPER busy during the weekends and you'll want to plan to wait a bit. Parking can be difficult. I haven't been there since finding out their "vegan" pizza has honey nor do I want to put in the effort to special order pizza without honey. Also I can think of 6 other places that offer pizza with vegan cheese.

Dough Contains Honey

Ethical vegans may have an issue eating here. As of July 2016 the dough still contains honey. This came as a surprise as I have been ordering the pizza (including the "vegan stromboli") for months now and was never informed by staff. Giving a low rating due to the lack of transparency. Lilly's says "the majority of vegans to whom we disclose this still return and don't consider it an issue". It appears that honey, instead of an alternative like agave, is in the dough for health and environmental concerns. Supposedly you may order the dough without honey however last time I did that they gave me no olive oil on the crust (not sure what happened there, if there was no honey in the crust or if they misunderstood the request).

Aside from that they have a good mock chicken (assuming it actually is vegan), and a large menu with many options. The only other issues I have with Lilly's is it is expensive and takes a while to get your order. I cannot call on Friday or Saturday nights to place an order because they either 1. don't pick up, or 2. say they are putting me on hold but actually hang up. Good pizza but I'm not sure it outweighs the other issues.

Pros: good pizza, large menu

Cons: honey in dough, long wait times, expensive

I don't understand this crack tofu.

Seriously the best pizza I have ever had. I came here with my boyfriend and we shared a vegan pie, adding the atomic tofu. That tofu changed my life. I do not even understand how one can create tofu that is that magical. I typically steer clear of tofu because so many places are unable to cook it well. Um, this place is far from one of them. They got that tofu down pat.

As for the rest of the pizza, the crust and all the toppings were incredible. I was so pleased with how fresh the ingredients were. It was easy to order and the staff was nice. The man who took our order was a tad slow with his knowledge of veganism, but the menu was clear as to what was and what was not vegan. They also have calzones and other options for vegan folk, as well as the gluten free population.

I will be returning here as soon as I can. I also have told most people who I am friends with that they are seriously missing out on pizza if they do not eat here.

Pros: TOFU!, Awesome food, Clear menu

Cons: Staff confusion

Lilly's

I had the Buddha pizza pie which included daiya, roasted kalamata olives, zucchini, tomatoes, and spinach. This place does excellent vegan white sauce and the daiya melted well. To my surprise this pizza tatse good cold too just like the normal stuff. The atmosphere is so so. It's more like a new wave dive for millenials in the form of a resturant. Parking would be tough on a week day from 5 to 7 since its in the downtown area of Raleigh. Prices are reasonable.

Pros: pizza's can be veganized, reasonable prices, plenty of seating, indoor/outdoor

Cons: limited parking, punk/hardcore radio can be distracting

Give it a go

I've been here a few times with friends and I usually leave feeling very satisfied. In addition to vegan cheeses, they have vegan chicken strips but I usually stick to vegetables. They have a great pizza and I usually order a whole one for myself so I can have leftovers.

My personal favorite is the vegan stromboli. Highly recommend to anyone but I would split it- it's huge!

Pros: Big Portions, Good Value

Cons: Usually Crowded, Takes a while
