Vegans be specific with orders! - Edit
The Lighthouse is a modest little restaurant that makes reasonably tasty food. It wouldn't be my first choice, but the food is affordable and decent with large portions. They aren't great at distinguishing between vegan and vegetarian, as they brought us egg noodles in our stir fry when we had specified that we do not eat egg.
Pros: Nice venue, Inexpensive, Good Melville option
Cons: Slow service, Misunderstand veganism, Bar vibe

Delightful Surprise - Edit
I stumbled across this place while staying in Melville and looking for a dinner spot on 7th. The word organic gave me hope and I was not disappointed. They have a few vegan options on the menu (veggie options a plenty) and are happy to veganize things. The best part was of course finding a place that knew what you were talking about and able to answer your questions. My meal was delicious and really inexpensive. The waiter was very sweet and attentive. They seem to have some entertainment at night as well. A great Melville option.
