A restaurant like a fairytale: via a small natural path parallel to a calm forest stream, you encounter this dimly lit 14th century monastery. Situated in the middle of nature, the silence of the surroundings immediately brings your soul to peace.
Read moreThe place offers some meat, but mostly vegetarian dishes, some of them which can be ordered vegan. We let the chef surprise us and he brought us two bowls of nourishing pea soup with bread and a plate of deliciously oven-roasted veggies. To accompany the medieval vibe, you could fill a clay pitcher with water from the natural spring just next to the monastery.
Chef Anthony was a very nice guy to have a chat with and he was running the place on his own the night we were there quite impressive!
A huge recommendation if you want to swap the commercialism and extravaganza of Portofino for a peaceful and humbling experience.
