lousy vegan options - Edit

Only one vegan option on the menu. It was an overpriced $14 veggie burger the size of a slider with French fries. There was absolutely nothing else.. Well except for the beet salad minus the goat cheese. I was starving when I left there and had to go home and eat again.

One of our friends got the scape fish special $30 and it smelled like ammonia. The waiter offered another entree and didn't even take anything off the bill. When our friend complained to the manager, he offered to take the replacement entree off the bill. The manager said 4 other tables complained about the fish. Makes you want to go vegan, huh?!

Pros: good drinks

Cons: serves fois gras, only one vegan option, small portions

Minimal Vegan Choices - Edit

Lento is more concerned with being a local then it is with being vegan. There was only one vegan item on the menu and several vegetarian items amid an extremely meat heavy menu.

The menu changes often so your experience when local veggies are in season may vary from ours in the middle of winter.

If you are brought here by a group of omnivores, you will likely find one entree to choose and perhaps some other items you can alter. Not recommended for vegans on general though.

Pros: Nice space, Local food

Cons: Meat, meat, meat, Few vegan choices , $$

Just a note.. - Edit

For the true vegans out there or for those who are animal-conscious, note that this restaurant serves items like Foie gras and "duck fat fries". Although they appear to also offer some vegetarian choices, this might be enough to keep many vegans from even wanting to look. I was looking on Happy Cow for vegan-friendly restaurants in Rochester, and there are a number of TRULY vegan-friendly ones out there (look at Owl House and John's Tex-Mex). If the fact that they offer these very animal UNfriendly items to diners does not bother you, then click away. But if I can save anyone the time, I know I would have appreciated reading this note before going to their website.

Pros: some veggie choices

Cons: very UNvegan menu items
