They sell bird sandwiches! - Edit
Nice to see a vegan pasty and sandwich but I was saddened to see they sell chicken!

Cons: They sell chicken

More options than we expected - Edit
We weren't sure what we'd find as four vegans, one with a soya allergy! But there was quite a lot of vegan options - two sandwiches in the chiller (one without soya), a pasty and vegan sausage roll (both made by phat pasties and i think both without soya), baked potato with chilli, two cakes in the cake section and some packaged cakes. Dairy free milks too. They said the soup was usually vegan but it wasn't on our visit.
Read moreWe had four of the cauliflower and chickpea pasties and they were delicious, then packaged 'we love cake' vegan, gluten-free tarts after as the other cakes had soya in (though they looked good).
Nice coffee too. Also cheaper tea and coffee if you arrived by public transport and spent over £4 (and half price entry if you arrive by public transport).
They were also really keen to tell us about their vegan options and seemed happy to check allergen information for us.
Pros: Choices even with soya allergy, Friendly staff, Cheaper drinks if you arrive by public transport

Middling - Edit
Agree with others re the RSPB should take more responsibility to nudge dietary shift. Ordered the vegan soup and it came with butter by default (then replaced with flora) so maybe staff training is needed. Otherwise it was tasty and a welcome find. Arrive by public transport (this place is next to rail station) and get half price entry

Cons: Butter came with vegan soup

Cake and hot food - Edit
As noted in other reviews there's good range, supporting a good cause, but environmental charities should push plant based eating.

Could do better - Edit
Some decent vegan options but they’re more expensive that equivalent meat based ones. Given the impact of animal farming on land use, carbon emissions and wildlife it’s unclear why the RSPB, as a wildlife conservation, charity or not heavily promoting vegan diets

Cons: Vegan breakfast more expensive , Focus on local sourcing as sustainability solution
