yummie vegan food - Edit
we ordered a chickpeacurry and a vegan risotto and both tasted very good. For desert they served us a vegan tiramisu for freeđ They have daily lunch dishes too: one of them is always vegan! (that day it was a bsked aubergine dish)

Seasonal and regional cuisine at it's best - Edit
Sonnentor produces a lot of very tasty products (I have long been a fan of their herbs, spices, and infusions), so I was curious to try the food at their restaurant when I was in the vicinity. My expectations were high and fully met. I was delighted with the seasonal potato and cabbage strudel with regional ingredients. For a small menu the vegan options were plenty (2 out of 4 main dishes).

Very creative vegan options, could be more at a time. - Edit
Always nice people, nice waiters. Vegan options available, could be more. Excellent taste by using their own Sonnentor-Spices.

Best vegan food in the Waldviertel region - Edit
The organic restaurant Leibspeis has dramatically improved their offer of vegan dishes. They are now creative, yummy and beautifully presented.
Read moreWe had a variation of wild garlic dishes as a starter. This was an interesting mix of different textures and techniques, from quiche, to mousse to some sort of frozen grainy wild garlic (no idea how they did that??) and a leaf in a crispy batter.
As a main I had a spinach strudel with a fantastic onion sauce and as a dessert a very good, only slightly sweet chocolate-peanut-bar.
They also serve good vegetarian dishes from what I know from friends I have dined with there.
Pros: Very creative, good food, beautifully presented, Focus on regional and seasonal food, Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: The restaurant also serves meat and fish
