Food was DELICIOUS, but they moved to Atlanta - Edit
I'm torn between leaving a 1 or 5 star review. 5 star because the food is so good, 1 star because they have closed up, I'll go with a 3. We just moved here and they were closed on Memorial Day weekend which seemed odd. Then they were closed every time we went by for the next few weeks, even though all the lights and open sign remained on. All the reviews I saw mentioned that their hours are sporadic but it was still strange to see a restaurant closed during lunch hours as well as Friday and Saturday nights. Finally the mystery has been solved, they now have a sign on the door explaining that they look forward to serving you in Atlanta. They had AMAZING Puerto Rican Chinese fried rice!!

Read moreExtensive vegan menu with delicious options. Being from Puerto Rico the food was genuine and the taste spot on. Friendly bilingual staff and decor reminiscent of island restaurants. Ask for the vegan menu and enjoy!!
Pros: Separate all vegan menu, Lots of Puerto Rican veganized items, Generous portions
Cons: You never know when they are open or closed

Delicious - Edit
The vegan mofungo relleno and vegan steak sandwich are so good! Every time we’re in Jacksonville, we have dinner here. Our last visit was on a weekend evening, there was live music. The band was great!

Be prepared to wait an hour for your food. Excessively slow service. - Edit
I have eaten here four times and it always takes an hour to get your food. The food is delicious but greasy. They charge separate for the fries and the sandwich so it’s a bit pricey. They do however have a full vegan menu.

Delicious and fun - Edit
We enjoyed trying out Puerto Rican food with a separate vegan menu. We shared the "chicken" and rice with red beans and a side of sweet plantains. It was more than enough food for the two of us.

OMG!!! - Edit
Omg!!! If you are Puerto Rican or love Puerto Rican food then you absolutely must try this place. It may not look much from the outside but trust me, this food is out of this world. I cannot believe how much it tastes just like food from the Island. I drove 2 hours to get there and would do it again, just for the food! I tried the mofongo, the fried “pork”, pastellios of “chicken”, the red beans n rice, maduros. Every bite was amazing
Read morePros: Lots of vegan main dishes , Lots of vegan appetizers , Lots of vegan sides
Cons: Far from me, Couldn’t eat everything all at once, Hard to decide what to eat first

Fantastic! - Edit
Their new vegan menu has only been around a month, but these people know what they're doing. I had a great lunch, trying several dishes and chatting with the super-friendly owners and staff. The pastelillos were absolutely delicious, better than any I've had in NY or LA. And vegan mofongo relleno? Are you kidding me? So good. The tostone de pana was excellent, especially with the garlic sauce. Yes, I ate that much for lunch. Yes, I also had dessert. Yes, the waitresses made fun of me (just a little, and for good reason!)
Read moreI love the story behind the menu, too. The couple's teenage daughter went vegan a couple of years ago and they've spent the last 18 months perfecting plant-based versions of all the classic Puerto Rican dishes. And they worked with the Zen Butcher to develop products with the right textures and flavors to incorporate into their recipes, so they're sourcing locally, too. I can't wait to go back and eat my way through the rest of the menu.
