Pretty restaurant behind the beach

Lebanon is a nice restaurant right behind the beach at Batu Ferringhi. It is easy to find and there is a bus stop close by, which was very good because we were using the bus to travel around Penang.
The interior is very tastefully decorated - in fact, it was one of the prettiest restaurant I visited on this trip and I liked the look of it very much (of course that is personal taste).
The staff were attentive, very friendly and spoke good English, so it was easy to ask about the ingredients of the dishes. The vegan dishes are not marked, but the staff were knowledgeable.
We ordered the Lebanon Mix Salad and the falafel, and also the olives because there were none in the salad. Everything tasted well, especially the falafel, which was fresh and very smooth. The baba ganoush was excellent as well.

It is a bit expensive for Penang and for what it is, and there could be more vegan options, but nevertheless, it was very pleasant to have dinner here after spending the afternoon at the beach!

Upgraded location and menu

Lebabnon has moved to a new location in the "By The Sea" complex a short walk from the public beach. Beautiful interior with flowers everywhere. We came on a whim because it was near the public beach and we were some of the first people to enjoy it. Staff was attentive and welcoming and knew which items would be suitable for vegans. The choices were traditional - no surprises - but flavorful and well prepared. Close to a mosque and most people here are devout Muslims so be thoughtful about arriving near prayer time. Great service. I had coconut curry vegetables with biriyani style rice. Restroom is gender neutral which is not common and you have to go outside to use it which is also unusual.

Pros: excellent new location, great traditional menu, kind and thoughtful staff

Cons: be mindful of prayer time, a mosque is close

Charged 16% extra

They have a tiny part lebanese food. Most of the menu is Indian but way to expensive for Malasian standards. There are many Indian courts/restaurant with veggies and vegan dishes around. They charge 16% on top of the bill for services and tax. You can’t read it anywhere in advance and they don’t tell you. I asked the staff about it and they said “all customers know”. Well, how does a new customer know?

Pros: There is hummus

Cons: No friendly staff, Overpriced, Average food

Not great

Found this place expensive for Malaysian standards. Neither quality nor quantity seemed to reflect the price either. Food was fine, just average. Probably wouldn't return.

Quite a few vegetarian & vegan options

One of very few places in Batu Ferrenghi with vegetarian & vegan options- Lebanese & Indian .
Many vegetarian starters : hummus, moutabal, baba ganoush, salads and if you’re ok with gluten also vegetarian samosas .

Few Indian mains vegetarian options . I had okra which was quite tasty.

Pros: Many vegetarian starters , Tasty food & big portions

Cons: Not that many vegetarian mains
