Tucked away in an indoor market in Stevenage, Leavened offer amazing proper sourdough bread using organic certified flour with the “classic” loaf consisting of just flour, water and salt. During the pandemic this bakery has been a god send for real bread when I used to rely on travelling into London. The vegan cinnamon buns served on Fridays are amazing and a super, delicious treat! They also serve oat milk for coffees and iced coffees. Most of the bread available all vegan, note the Spelt and Light rye loaves do have honey in them. Worth a visit for just tasty real bread done really well. The staff are clearly passionate about what they produce from this bakery and you can taste it.
